Alex boosted his stock by being engaged on both ends of the floor, and seeing defensive plays in a showcase is good to see. He looked comfortable with the ball; he showed that he could be a spot-up option, and he has a quick release. He didn’t need much room to get his shot off and was not shy. On the defensive end, his screen navigation stood out to me. He didn’t get hung up on screens; he stayed attached and spoke on that end of the floor. He’s an intriguing prospect who we want to see more of so it was great to see him get out and get his name on the map. 

Chavez put on a clinic with his on ball pressure all tournament long. He was relentless on closeouts and never gave up an inch, making it tough for anyone to beat him off the dribble. What really stood out was how sharp he was when the ball got swung around the perimeter—he’d switch off in a flash and lock down whoever got it next. Whether it was straight man-to-man or helping out in a double team, Chavez was constantly causing chaos. He racked up multiple steals and forced a bunch of bad passes just by staying active and reading the game perfectly

Romo was a key offensive catalyst, attacking the rim with control and confidence. He hit a clutch pull up 3 to spark a comeback on Day 2 and showed the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. When Romo found his rhythm, he became a tough cover, driving to the basket and drawing contact to get to the free throw line.
