On a team filled with top ranked talent, Cornell was one of the leading scorers for his team as the Dayton area guard shot the lights out from downtown. Cornell got hot in the second 5 on 5 game his team played as he was lighting it up with deep catch and shoot 3-pointers from behind the college line, pull-up 3-pointers and quick releases off the catch. Cornell had a strong freshman season at Northwestern-Springfield in the CBC, scoring 11 PPG but has made the move to Springfield high school in the GWOC, where he’ll be challenged by the best talent in Dayton on a nightly basis. Great opportunity for Cornell to continue to prove himself Vs top talent!

Another incoming freshman making some noise in a high school fall league, Cornell was making it rain from long distance on Sunday morning. An impressive shooter with his feet set, Cornell was usually converting when he was given time to fire away. A couple times later in the day Cornell got to the rim and scored, using the threat of a 3-point shot to his advantage. I’d expect Cornell to hit the ground running at the varsity level this winter after impressing against some solid older talent in this fall league.
