was one of the most extraordinary athletes in the showcase, playing with a smooth, graceful leaping ability as he took flight with ease. Not someone you want to jump with, as he proved to be capable of continuing his rise while punching it over anyone attempting to stand in his way. He routinely made highlights and posters out of his opponents on the fastbreak, applying constant pressure in transition. His ability to elevate helped him finish floaters and stop-and-pop jumpers inside the arc, showing touch and body control midair. Defensively, he swatted shots through explosive verticality and timing, impacting the game as a rim protector.

I was blown away by the talents displayed by Aiden on both ends of the floor. He moves at his own pace, and he has the skill to do so – no one is going to speed him up or slow him down no matter how hard they try. He has a large frame and a physical presence that he takes advantage of often – consistently creating havoc for his opponents on defense and getting whatever he wants inside the paint and out on the offensive end. He has the ability to make multiple adjustments in the air so it’s hard to defend his attacks on the rim. He’s also a knockdown shooter and can create plenty of space for himself, so he’s a nightmare for any opposing defender. His IQ is through the roof, and he has quick hands that he uses to rack up steals. I didn’t see Olivarez get bothered or upset once throughout his games, but he’s NEVER disengaged – basically makes a positive impact on every play he’s involved in. His demeanor and skills remind me of Kawhi.

Olivarez thrives as a downhill scoring threat who pressures the rim with intent. He attacks closeouts decisively and finishes through traffic, forcing help defenders to collapse. His jumper continues to trend upward, particularly off the catch, adding another layer to his offensive profile. Defensively, he competes with a solid motor, sliding well in space and staying engaged through multiple efforts. His aggressiveness paired with improving perimeter touch makes him a backcourt piece trending in the right direction.

, a player I had having a good performance going into the Labor Day Showcase, impressed me after watching his game for the first time on the Prep Hoops circuit. He didn’t disappoint at the Labor Day Showcase, emerging as one of my best prospects. As a guard, he effectively utilizes his athleticism, constantly attacking the basket and aggressively going for second chance opportunities on offense. Additionally, he demonstrated his ability to play tight defense, occasionally altering shots and showing great effort in that area.

, an athletic guard, offers a wide range of skills on both ends of the court. Offensively, he excels at playing above the rim. His quick burst on his first step, coupled with his strong frame, allows him to easily bypass multiple defenders and reach the basket. Additionally, he sets up his teammates, shoots from the perimeter, and adapts well to various offensive situations. Defensively, Aiden plays with an aggressive style that makes him highly effective on that end of the floor. He contests shots at the rim using his athleticism to block shots off the glass whenever the opportunity arises.
What’s Next for Aiden?
Aiden is currently a top 40 player in Texas while being a top 15 shooting guard for his class according to Prep Hoops. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t been offered yet by a college program as he brings so much to the floor. Aiden is definitely someone that belongs on the next level when it’s all said and done. At East Central Aiden will be looking to carry on his summer momentum into the fall.

the 2027 guard out of San Antonio is a strong guard that is a threat offensively that’s active defensively as well. Offensively he knocks down perimeter shots, finishes at the rim with both hands and can create separation from defenders on all three levels. Aiden had flashes of playmaking in the Be Someone 16U offense in the pick & roll, transition and half sets showing he can contribute in different ways. Defensively he has quick hands poking the ball out of opposing ball handler’s possession. He competes very well on the defensive end of the floor using his athleticism to make chase down blocks. Aiden is a good on ball defender that plays without reaching in much.

Olivarez is a physical guard who was unstoppable in the game against Steam Ahead. Coaches who favor physical guards will appreciate his dominant style of play. Aiden already has good size for shooting guard or wing. Solid ball handling skills, above average shooter from behind the arc. Offensive skills above average with shot fakes and crossovers. If your slow on rotations he will dunk on you. Defensively has the skills to guard combo guards and rebounds effectively.
