Expert Analysis

Hill provides a ton of versatility for Team Oklahoma. Last weekend in Norman, the junior stood out because of his ability to impact the game in a number of different ways. The Leedey standout can finish at all three levels, and excels when faced with contact around the rim. At 6’7″, Hill is able to see over defenders and create passing angles to find others. He also uses that length to shoot over smaller defenders on the perimeter. Aaron is a really solid floor spacer that will continue to benefit from putting the ball on the floor and attacking slower perimeter defenders.

Maybe it was early jitters or something Hill had for lunch, but he was slow out of the gate. Missed good looks around the rim and looked a step off. He finally got a shot to fall late in the first then started to assert himself in the second quarter. It might’ve took a questionable offensive foul call to snap him out, but from that point further he was effective and impactful.
Went up and snagged a high entry pass then went up quickly and strongly. Shortly after he hustled back on defense, forcing a turnover to save two points. Then immediately was fed and scored for an And 1 with attitude! A third quarter baby hook by the lefty showed some better touch, and he stayed locked in around the rim. Went for 17 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

A workhorse in the middle, he just powered his Bison to a Regional Class B-2 Championship and upset over 2nd ranked Vici. Hill has been a productive player since starting as a freshman on a Leedey team that also made state. Now he’s made a junior leap as a force around the pain. He’s been a walking double-double with regular season averages of 22 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. After missing last year, they are now just one win from a State Tournament appearance. Where no team in Class B-2 will look forward to stopping Hill, or trying to score on him.

The freshman is more of a traditional post for Leedey. He first flashed with a good block shot from behind, then continued to battle around the rim. Especially as a good rebounder. A mid-range jumper also gives some promise of skill, but he will need to work on dribbling with his head and add fluidity on post ups.
