About AJ

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A true point guard who will always find a way to help his team win. Can bring the ball up or play off the ball. Look to get downhill quickly to create or score, but also can knock down the 3. Pride myself on lockdown defense on and off the ball with quick hands to cause deflections and turnovers.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I just love to always be in the gym. I embrace challenges and look forward to new opportunities.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Involved in a mental health award club for athletes, teaching/coaching young athletes, and volunteering at my church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I take pride in being the best teammate I can possibly be, and I can fit and work in whatever situation I’m in.

What type of college are you looking for?

A great environment that gives me the opportunity to play basketball and earn a business degree.

Shows a feel in the pick-and-roll, setting up ball screens with patience and delivering passes to the post. Has a solid handle and touch on runners and floaters.

Berndt brings defensive energy with quick lateral movement, active hands, and the anticipation to jump passing lanes and push in transition. While he owns a respectable outside shot, he looks to create inside-first as a playmaker. He’s continued to develop his frame in the weight room this summer.
