Conference Commentary
State Contender: Aberdeen Central
They have strong pieces in every part of their line-up and most of it comes with toughness. They have a shot to go for the gold this year although they may not have quite as much depth as the other favorites.
Top 10 Right Now: Huron, Brandon Valley, Pierre TF Riggs
Huron has two all league, all state guys back in Heinz and Evers while Brandon Valley has a fantastic senior class to lean on with an experienced player at every position. Pierre will have a lot of scoring to replace but they have a stand-out in Bradley Dean.
Compete with Most: Watertown, Brookings
Watertown will be better than people think with Nate Davis gone but they do have a lot of playmaking to replace. We like Brookings more and more whenever we think about them.
In-Between: Harrisburg, Yankton
Harrisburg has a load of good guards young and old and they will make a jump but how big will that jump be? Yankton competes with toughness but they have guards that must be replaced.
Rebuilding: Mitchell
Connor Morgan and Reed Overweg are solid but they need a lot more to get where they want to be.
