There have been quite a few players in the 2021 class to pick up offers recently, and we’re going to highlight who they are and when they got it. All of the offer information and time has come from twitter and the Verbal Commits website, which is possibly the most reliable recruiting page on the web. All of the offers listed have occurred since April has started. Take a look at some of the guys who are getting a lot of division one offers right now.
Isaiah Folkes Isaiah Folkes 6'1" | PG Middleburg | 2021 PA | 6’2” PG | Middleburg (#15 Overall)
New Offers: NC A&T, Southern Utah, Mount St. Mary’s
Folkes has been one of the most highly recruited point guards in the state since reclassifying to the 2021 class and his most recent three offers gives him a total of 15 since the reclassification. He’s one of the most dynamic and athletic point guards in the country as he thrives in transition, can get way above the rim when he gets downhill and his athleticism allows him to make plays for others when he gets it going.
Bryson Spell Bryson Spell 6'7" | PF Cape Henry | 2021 State VA | 6’7” PF | Cape Henry (#16 Overall)
New Offer: Virginia Tech
Spell is a guy who has seen his stock rise to the point where he now holds two high major offers from Virginia Tech and Cincinnati. He’s shown improvement in his strength and confidence over the past few years, and he has a skill set at his size that many coaches love as he’s a knock down shooter who can bring the bigs out of the paint and he can run the offense from the high post as well.
Garrett Johnson Garrett Johnson 6'7" | SG Episcopal | 2021 State VA | 6’6” WG | Episcopal (#21 Overall)
New Offers: Brown, Penn, Vermont, Mount St. Mary’s, Furman, UNCW, Holy Cross, Towson, Loyola-Chicago
Johnson is one of the fastest rising prospects in the state after a terrific junior season and he’s seeing a number of mid major programs up and down the east coast starting to pull the trigger. His academics help him as he’s a very smart kid on and off the court, and his physical and athletic tools are very good as well. He’s a guy who can play in transition and make shots from deep, and he’s able to play multiple positions too.
Elvin Edmonds Elvin Edmonds 6'2" | CG Hopewell | 2021 State VA | 6’2” CG | Hopewell (#29 Overall)
New Offers: Holy Cross, Mount St. Mary’s
It’s shocking to me that this is the first offer Edmonds has pulled in a few years as he has been one of the best guards in the RVA area the past three seasons. A high academic kid who plays with toughness and purpose on the floor, he’s a guy who can play on and off the basketball, he makes good decisions and he can really shoot the rock from deep.
Caleb Kenney Caleb Kenney 6'6" | PF Douglas Freeman | 2021 State VA | 6’6” F | Douglas Freeman (#39 Overall)
New Offer: Northern Florida
Northern Florida must have done their homework because Kenney is a high ceiling division one prospect who would have seen a lot of interest in the live periods if we played them. A high academic and high character kid, Kenney has great length and athleticism, he can play inside-out and he’s a versatile defender who plays with a good motor and makes plays on both ends.
William Henderson William Henderson 6'7" | PF Life Christian | 2021 PA | 6’10” PF | Life Christian (#40 Overall)
New Offer: Southern Utah
Henderson is a guy I probably have ranked too low after his growth spurt and development has him sitting at 6’10” with guard skills and big time athleticism. He’s a guy who can stretch the floor and make shots and can also put it on the deck in isolation to create shots, he’s a rim protector and rim runner who plays well in transition and he’s a guy who has been working nonstop recently to improve.
Dana Woodley Dana Woodley 6'4" | SG John Marshall | 2021 State VA | 6’4” WG | John Marshall (#51 Overall)
New Offer: Southern Utah
Woodley is a high ceiling guy who has great physical and athletic tools and continues to improve in a number of ways. He sprouted about four inches over the past few years and has filled out nicely, he grew into his body and he’s playing way above the rim now and he’s a guy who can stretch the floor and make shots from deep too.
