Justin King (Mascoutah)
Current Ranking: #23
Previous Ranking: #33
King was the top young prospect in the house this fall at the Pure Sweat Fall Combine. Really like the upside with this long and rangy 6’1” point guard who will grow several more inches before his college days. Slippery through traffic with the ball weaving through the defense in both transition and the half court. Best basketball is ahead of him.
Damari Wheeler-Thomas (Larkin)
Current Ranking: #29
Previous Ranking: NR
Wheeler-Thomas broke out in our eyes at the Proviso West Holiday Tournament. At 5’11” the point guard made consistent trips to the foul line where he knocked down his shots from the charity stripe. Solid perimeter shooter drilling a pair early in the contest. Used his speed in transition and flashed some athleticism. Pesky on ball defender that put pressure on opposing guards.
Cooper Noard (Glenbrook South)
Current Ranking: #31
Previous Ranking: NR
Noard is an emerging point guard that has become the clear #2 option for GBS behind Martinelli. The 6’0” guard has shown it multiple times this season. He is a gritty and competitive guard that can flat out shoot the rock. Drills three after three! Can play both on and off the ball. One to monitor moving forward.
Avyion Morris (Simeon)
Current Ranking: #42
Previous Ranking: NR
Tiny Simeon point guard that is shifty with the ball in his hands. Crisp passer that makes solid decisions. Morris has made his mark this season on a team with a ton of quality players coming in off the bench as a spark using his speed and energy to have several impactful performances.
Yosef Oliff (Niles North)
Current Ranking: #52
Previous Ranking: NR
This 5’11” point guard has played extremely well off of his star senior Smart this year. He is a crisp passer that makes excellent dishes to open teammates. Also a really good spot up shooter that has excelled at hitting triples from the corners all year.
Vaurice Patterson (Schaumburg)
Current Ranking: #58
Previous Ranking: NR
Patterson is a sophomore point guard that made an impression on this game in a number of ways each time we have seen Schaumburg play this season. As a scorer he can really shoot it from three and displays a burst with the ball in his hands when getting out in the open court. Overall has a nice feel for the game for a young guard.
