I like to take a look at my annual “Top-5’s”.
It’s just a fun way to take a look at players’ elite skills in different categories.
We move over to who are the most versatile players. Which seniors will impact the game with their versatility this seasons in the AIA?
Here are my Top-5:
1. Logan Phillips (Valley Christian)-A super rare 6’7+ player that literally plays all 5 positions. Handles like a guard, shoots it and will flush it down. The POY in 3A last year is a match-up nightmare. (Pictured)

2. Devon Brooke (ALA-QC)–Another 6’7 forward who is a point forward type. Shoots 3’s and can post up plus throw it down on the break.
3. Zeke Thompkins (Apollo)–An almost 6’6 point forward who plays the 1-3 but can also defend the 4-man with great length.
4. Shemar Morrow (Shadow Mountain)–Around 6’4 also defends basically every position on the court.
5. Arnold Dates (Brophy)–One of the strongest and tougher 6’3 players you will find. Posts up like he’s 6’7 and can handle like a guard.
My next-5:
1. James Burries (Moon Valley)–Near 6’4 and can play the 2-4 for the Rockets.
2. Michael Hanson (Seton Catholic)–Another around 6’4 and posts up players plus can shoot it from deep.
3. Caleb Alonso (Desert Ridge)–Top-tier shooter plays the 2-5 at times for the Jaguars.
4. Caleb Wright (Millennium)–Can post up and shoot 3’s. Strong forward does many things well.
5. Tyree Tyler (Skyline)–About 6’4 and plays the 3-5 for the Coyotes. The high motor forward does all the little stuff for them.
5 way under the radar:
1. Byron Brown (Sahuarita)–Talked about him with the star athletes. At 6’4 he plays PG for them and defends every position including post players.
2. Devan Smith (Maya)–Only 6’3 but powerful and plays a lot in the post and can handle it like a guard. (CAA player)
3. Cesar Saenz (Sabino)–A physical 6’3 wing can do it all for the Sabercats. One of the better Tucson players that many don’t know too much about.
4. Miichel Milambu (Tempe)–A defensive dynamo who plays the 1-3 for the Buffaloes.
5. Grant Weitman (Salpointe Catholic)–A 6’3 guard who plays in the post a lot with his strength plus is an outstanding passer.
