The combine featured close to 150 kids in the event. Lets take a look at some of the 2023 players that stood out while we were watching.
Greg Jackson – Ridge View HS (pictured on the front)
Jackson 6’8 was all over the floor today challenging and altering shots. Jackson is the most talented player in the 2023 class, Jackson runs the floor very well and has the ability to hit perimeter jumpers. Jackson should work into some good playing time for the Blazers this coming season as a freshman. Jackson has all the tools to be very special down the road.
Myles Squirewell – Ridge View HS
Squirewell has a good sturdy frame and isn’t afraid of contact. Squirewell can overpower players with his play on the floor. Squirewell rebounded the ball well on both ends of the floor.
Shymeik Jones #50Shymeik Jones – Camden HS
Prep Hoops saw Jones this past June at Camden HS playing with the Bulldogs. Jones 6’5 is very active on the both ends of the floor. Jones will be a building block for Bulldogs Head Coach Ron McKie and the future. Jones plays very well away from the ball and is quite active in the passing lanes.
Matty FoorMatty Foor – Summerville HS
Foor should see some quality minutes this season for Green Wave Head Coach David Long. Foor handles the ball very well and has a good feel for the game. Foor was able to hit some open looks from the perimeter today.
Jaxon Burnette – West Oak HS (Westminster)
Burnette already 6’4 is the quarterback on the football team. Burnette has the ability to play inside-out on the floor. Burnette was always in good position to make plays and receive the ball. This was a my first time watching him play. West Oak HS is located in the Northwest Corner of the State in Oconee County.
