J.J. Schwepker 6’5″ Fort Zumwalt South: The 2020 sharpshooter took home Most Valuable Player honors by scoring 25 points in the semifinals and 34 points in the championship game. He knocked down eight 3-pointers in the finals, and he did it off the catch, coming off curl screens and in transition. He also scored off the dribble when defenders closed out on him and he moved well without the ball for open layups.
Jordan Nesbitt 6’6″ St. Louis Christian Academy: The 2021 bucket-getter did a nice job of playing the facilitator role in the semifinals game. He scored 16 points and flashed his overall offensive game, but he was very good at setting up teammates for easy opportunities. He likes the ball in his hands and he made good decisions with it throughout the game. He has several Division I offers on the table.
Ilyaas Harris 5’10” Cardinal Ritter: The 2021 point guard scored 15 points and displayed the ability to score with the ball in his hands and also playing off the ball. He is a creative ball handler who loves to operate in the pick-and-roll with his ability to get buckets and drop dimes. He also knocked down a couple of 3-pointers off the catch.
Karl Moore 6’6″ Jennings: A 2021 power forward who was a force around the basket with his ability to rebound, rebound and rebound some more. He plays with a high motor on both ends and can also impact the way with his shot blocking. He is a physical athlete who threw down some impressive dunks in traffic and in transition.
Kionte Cole 5’10” Gateway STEM: The 2020 guard was a revelation during the final games of the league with his ability to put the ball in the basket. He scored 11 points in the semifinals and knocked down three 3-pointers in the game. He also made five 3-pointers in the quarterfinals.
Woodson Batiste 6’5″ Gateway STEM: It was my first time seeing this athletic 2020 forward and he was impressive with his overall activity around the basket. He scored six points. He was a good rebounder and he ran the court well in transition for easy buckets.
