On the 22nd, the Top 250 Expo will travel back to Virginia where it will take place at Riverbend High School. In anticipation of the upcoming expos in the area, we’re in the process of highlighting 30 prospects who benefited respectively from last year’s local showcases. Today, we take a look at 2019 forward Joel Kabimba of Middleburg Academy.
PRE-CAMP
Kabimba was one of the more highly touted prospects heading into last year’s event. The standout 6’8 forward already held two offers from Norfolk State and James Madison. Kabimba had come off a productive junior campaign and had played well on the grassroots circuit as well.
DURING CAMP
As expected, Kabimba’s blend of size, athleticism and skill were too much for his opponents. He consistently overpowered others throughout the day and his work ethic was commendable.

POST-CAMP
Within two weeks of camp, Radford became the next school to offer Kabimba, who was named First Team VISAA All State in Division II during his superb senior year. He would go on to receive offers and interest from the likes of Elon, La Salle, Kansas State, NC State, Quinnipiac, and Youngstown State before ultimately committing to Stetson.
