Martice Mitchell (Bloom)
Travel Team: Young & Reckless
Ranking: #5
Mitchell made the jump to the top post with a strong June and July. Long and lanky big man that runs the floor with so much fluidity. High level shot blocker and rim runner. What makes him even more intriguing is the skill level he has being able to stretch the floor and put it on the deck at times. Once he gets stronger he will be even better.
Seryee Lewis (Morgan Park)
Travel Team: Mac Irvin Fire
Ranking: #7
Lewis is the best power forward in the state. He was excellent with Morgan Park when we saw him in June being a force around the hoop with his athleticism and quickness both scoring and on the glass. Flashed during July with Mac Irvin Fire at Peach Jam. Lots of upside here!
Sam Schultz (Oswego East)
Travel Team: HIT
Ranking: #22
Four man that has broad shoulders and strength. More mobile and athletic than he is given credit. Sound rebounder. Can score from both the mid-range and on the block. Improved his ability to put it on the deck with a couple dribbles.
Ryan Isaacson (Hinsdale Central)
Travel Team: Chicago Lockdown
Ranking: #23
This Hinsdale Central product is the new age four man. Stretches the floor with his shooting to well beyond the arc. Excellent pick and pop threat with a fluid three point shot.
Chris Conway (Naperville Central)
Travel Team: Young & Reckless
Ranking: #24
Conway is a versatile and mobile post that could be used at either the four or five at his future home of Oakland. Runs the floor very well and has a touch around the hoop that can be developed. Frame to add strength.
Devon House (Sterling Newman)
Travel Team: Iowa Barnstormers
Ranking: #27
House is a big boy on the interior. Wide bodied five man that is slightly undersized, but he makes up for it with his extremely high skill level. Really knows how to score with his back to the basket on the block using excellent footwork and touch. Can pass it and is improving as a face up shooter. Area rebounder.
Armond Williams (East St. Louis)
Travel Team: Southwest Jets
Ranking: #28
Long and lanky post from the 618 that is a rim runner in transition and flashes moves on the block. His biggest value however might be what he brings defensively swatting shots and defending in ball screens.
Frank Jakubicek (Cary Grove)
Travel Team: Quad City Elite
Ranking: #29
The Belmont commit elevated his stock with a strong showing during June for Cary Grove. What he was most effective at was garnering deep post position and scoring with quick moves. Good strength and footwork on the block.
RJ Ogom (Homewood Flossmoor)
Travel Team: All-In Athletics
Ranking: #32
Ogom is a power player in the post. He is such a physical prospect with his ability to rebound at a high level on both ends of the floor. Gets a lot of second chance points offensively. Flashed improved skill shooting and taking his man off the bounce from the high-post.
Aaron Tims (Hinsdale South)
Travel Team: Team RWA
Ranking: #33
Tims is a bouncy four man with upside. The lefty is a player that excels off his elite athleticism. Gets on the offensive glass about as well as anyone in the class and can finish above the rim on lobs or in transition.
