The 6’3” shooting guard let the game come to him and he took over scoring several games for the Southwest Jets 16U. Smooth wing that has broad shoulders and long arms. Nifty drives through traffic for finishes. Streaky shooter, but is definitely improving in that area. Potential as a scorer!
Smith spoke with PrepHoopsIllinois about his July running with the Southwest Jets 16U.
“It is going pretty good. This was our first years as a team. I thought we have got better every tournament.”
He gives max effort even when he isn’t scoring.
“I play hard. I play on defense. I do whatever it takes to win. If my shot is off I will play defense and get rebounds.”
Smith is looking forward to his junior season.
“It went pretty good. We didn’t go as far as we wanted too, but this year we plan to go to state. We have a really good team with me, Rico Sylvester, and Javon Pickett.”
He doesn’t have much going on with recruiting at this stage, but expect that to change in the not too distant future.
