PG DJ Dudley (San Ysidro, CA – 2022)
Dudley has proven he is one of the better scoring guards in camp early in the week. The 6’1” guard is super long with a 6’7” wingspan. He is a smooth scorer that gets where he wants when he wants on the floor. Had several athletic takes to the cup including a behind the back layup. Good form on the jump shot with a slick handle.
SG Tre White (Washington, WI – 2022)
White stood out in the morning session. The early verbal to Kansas is off to a nice start in his first event as a Jayhawks commit. The Mac Irvin Fire off guard is a natural scorer. Not an elite level athlete, but he is just so skilled and handles it well. Crafty drives to the cup and has a knack for finishing everything in the paint with either hand or runners.
F William Jeffress (McDowell, PA – 2021)
Jeffress is a combo forward that has excellent length. High level rebounder that snatched them out of the air. Also displayed some ability to stretch the floor with his shooting touch from three. Finishes well around the hoop. Works well from the mid-post in.
C Wilhelm Breidenbach (Mater Dei, CA – 2021)
This 6’9” center showed well throughout the day on Tuesday. Active post prospect who has great footwork on the block. Skilled traditional post player who runs the floor well and gets on the offensive glass.
SF Kalen Etzler (Crestview, OH – 2021)
Etzler stands at 6’7” as small forward who has a lot of crafty moves. Used shot fakes along with up and unders on a regular basis.
SF Emoni Bates (Lincoln, MI – 2022)
Bates was impressive from the first second he walked in the gym. He put on a complete show in a skilled workout session on one of the middle courts when he wasn’t playing a game. He wowed NBA scouts with his ability to shoot it from deep, crisp ball handling, and play above the rim. His ability to create his own shot was evident in the game with step backs and a fluid perimeter jumper. In the night game we watched him he once again showed flashes with silky smooth drives including an insane spinning layup. Quick second jump to the offensive glass. Forced a lot of tough jumpers and didn’t connect on as many. Without question the most physically impressive kid in the camp.
SG Zion Cruz (Hudson Catholic, NJ – 2022)
Cruz is an absolute killer with his mid-range game. Silky smooth scorer that got buckets with ease from all three levels. Stop and pop game was on point pulling up with smooth elevation. Also knocked down spot up threes. During the Tuesday night session I came away impressed with how well Cruz dished the rock.
PG Devin Askew (Mater Dei, CA – 2021)
Askew is a ball screen savant. He works well around screens being able to shoot it pulling up off the bounce. Clean release. Can turn the corner and get to the rim for runners and floaters. Excellent floor general reading defenses.
F Jonathan Kuminga (Our Savior, NY – 2021)
Kuminga is making a strong case for the top spot in the 2021 class nationally. At 6’7” he is a broad shouldered combo forward who has a prototype NBA frame and athleticism. Burst with the ball in his hands getting downhill to the rim. His ball handling has greatly improved over the last year which was shown in drill work and the game. Attacks the rim with force playing above the rim. Jump shot looks a lot more fluid as well.
C Chet Holmgren (Minnehaha, MN)
The 6’11” center continued his rise with a monster spring. Rail thin prospect that can do it all! Plus shooter that stretches the floor shooting it better than most guards. Drilled threes off the catch with consistency. Free and easy release. Can also knock down mid-range jumpers pulling up. Runs the floor so well! Right down the middle of the floor! Elite level rim protector. Once he adds strength it is over!
PF Jalen Washington (Westside, IN – 2022)
Long and angular 6’7” four man who is a face up four. Elite pick and pop shooter that can stretch the floor in the pick/roll game with his shooting from mid-range to three. Also had a sweet up and under move.
C Efton Reid (The Steward School, VA -2021)
True back to the basket player at 6’10” with a wide base. Soft touch around the hoop. Right handed hook shot is one of his go to moves. Strong post with size that is an elite level rebounder. Runs floor well for his size and finished with strength around the hoop.
C John Butler (Christ Church Episcopal, SC – 2021)
Long and thin five man that is very frail, but has a lot of potential. Stretches from deep knocking down several threes throughout the day. Skilled kid that runs the floor well.
C Moussa Cisse (Christ the King, NY – 2021)
Cisse is a 6’11” five man who has added strength since a year ago at the same camp. He is so powerful around the hoop at both ends of the floor. Spin moves and dunks consistently finishing with force. Threw down a few huge dunks with his high activity level around the hoop. High level rim protector! Overall skill needs to continue to evolve.
C Dereck Lively (Westtown, PA – 2022)
Lively is a seven footer that has a long and lanky frame. Good timing as a shot blocker as he protected the rim well. High points rebounds in traffic. Very active big man.
PF Abdou-Halil Barre (Our Savior New American, NY – 2022)
Our Savior New American has a tradition of producing high-major post players and this is the next one. He is a broad shouldered four man that was an absolute beast on the boards getting on the offensive glass for second chance points. Finished dump off passes. Intimidating presence defensively.
PF Adama Sanogo (Our Savior New American, NY – 2021)
Tough and physical four man that rebounds at an extremely high rate. Also ran the floor hard and finished with athleticism around the rim.
PF Michael Foster (Hillcrest Prep, AZ – 2021)
The Wisconsin native missed the early portion of the day on Tuesday with a rolled ankle, but came back strong in the night session. Rebounded with athleticism in traffic. He threw down a couple huge slams with the best coming when he went coast to coast for a jam. Even dropped in a three from the wing. Played with a high-motor.
SG Dariq Whitehead (Montverde, FL – 2022)
Whitehead is a powerful and athletic shooting guard that played above the rim in transition with several big dunks. Really like his potential as a go to scorer with his pull up jumper and overall ability to create his own shot.
SG Aminu Mohammed (Greenwood Laboratory, MO – 2021)
Mohammed is a strong and athletic two guard who attacks downhill with force! He consistently got to the rim with straight line drives slashing to the rim for dunks and other acrobatic finishes. Competes on the defensive end.
C Franck Kepnang (Westtown, PA – 2021)
The high energy center is a vocal leader on and off the court. He had another impressive day protecting the rim, throwing down powerful jams, dishing strong outlets, and diving after loose balls. In my eyes he is a top 10 talent nationally.
