As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions in the junior class.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2021 class.
Jayden Hall, 5’5, G, 2021, Wichita Heights
Hall has a nice touch to his jumper and is good at staying on the move in order to get an open look. He comes off of screens and is good at keeping the ball out of the way of the defender and making extra passes. he’s also a good defender who likes to play close to his opponents and looks to keep them uncomfortable.
Khalen Harrison, 5’9, PG, 2021 Topeka West
A tough player who can handle physicality and bring some of his own. He is a good point guard and is good at walking his opponent into a screen and passing off the roll. He’s good at getting into the lane and can shoot well from outside. Harrison stays active on the defensive end and makes life physical for his opponents.
Keegan Harrod, 5’6, G, 2021, Maize
Harrod has an elusiveness to his game that can make him hard to handle for a defender. He can disappear at times and is good at getting the ball and shooting over taller players. He’s a patient player, and a sneaky defender. He works extremely hard to get open and we’ll dive on the floor to save a ball and feed his teammates who are getting hot.
Blake Potthoff, 6’0, G, 2021 Shawnee Mission
A good player who can handle it some and shoot when open. He’s at his best when he’s confident and in the zone and putting as much effort into the defensive end as he does the offensive. He runs the floor, passes ahead, and stays with his man on defense.
Carson Brading, 5’10, G, 2021, Jeff West
Braiding does a little bit of everything on the floor. He passes, dribbles, and can score near the basket. He also can shoot from distance and can sometimes get inside and pass out to his teammates.
