Nicholas Valencia – FMD – Mtn. View
Valencia was part of a solid defensive team that caused a lot of misses. When the ball went up, he used his big frame to bump other players off his spot and box out well. From there, he made several solid outlet passes to get the team running in transition.
Malcolm Jackson – Dukes – Deer Valley
He was all over the place in the tournament, getting a lot of defensive boards and then running out on the break himself. He displayed some solid vertical jumps even when other bigger players were around him, and he was quick enough to snake around others and secure rebounds.
Hunter Robbins – AZ Legends – Mesa
He utilized his size advantage throughout the first day. Both in height and mass, he was much bigger, and played a bigger style, than nearly all his opponents. But, he was very disciplined in getting to the right position to box out, and the many boards he collected showed that.
