Tanner Poeschl – FMD – Skyline
Poeschl, in addition to scoring nearly at will, was a big factor near the basket, blocking a lot of shots and altering even more. His numbers of both those categories could have even been bigger than they were, but teams had to settle for more jumpers from the outside because he made the game hard for them to score.
Luis Lopez – Dukes – Thunderbird
I was really impressed with the way he played man defense, and the steals and deflections he caused created more scoring opportunities on the other end in transition. He was very pesky to opposing handlers, making it difficult for them to have any drives to the basket.
Hunter Robbins – AZ Legends – Mesa
His pressure near the basket in this tournament was important for their defensive structure. He used his size to alter and block shots, and then finished defensive possessions by securing a lot of rebounds.
Polite Peterson – Dukes – Crestview
Peterson was an athletic defensive player, moving his feet very well and getting into position to cause steals and deflections.
