PrepHoopsIllinois is excited to get out to tons of events over the next few months. We wanted to give you some insight into the players we are excited to see this spring! Here is our Looking Forward: 2020 Wings.
Isaiah Rivera (Geneseo)
Rivera is one of the most intriguing prospects this spring. He had a monster junior campaign including dropping 51 points in a game. The wing will switch over to Meanstreets and play on the Nike EYBL circuit where he will look to prove he is a high-major prospect.
Jayden Johnson (Batavia)
Johnson hasn’t gotten quite the recruiting interest we feel he deserves. Plus plus shooter with well beyond college range. He has been knocked by some coaches for his lack of elite athleticism. We think he is primed for a monster spring.
Will Wolfe (Aurora Christian)
Wolfe is a crisp wing with a super high skill level. Quality athlete that can really shoot the basketball. Should open some eyes with the Illinois Wolves.
Christian Shumate (Plainfield East)
Super high level athlete that plays above the rim. Scouts and coaches will be watching closely how the skill level develops which will ultimately decide what level he plays at in college.
Destin Whitaker (Romeoville)
Whitaker broke out of the spotlight of his Romeville seniors from the previous season as it was his team this year. This athletic wing with range on his shot has caught the eye of several coaches that will be monitoring him throughout the spring.
Sincere Parker (Rockford East)
Parker had a monster high school season with Rockford East. The long and lanky two guard has a smooth offensive scoring game and tremendous upside. This is a player that could blow up.
Jeremiah Williams (St. Laurence)
Williams broke out as a junior elevating his game to new heights. The scoring wing proved he could post big numbers both off the bounce and shooting. Now time to do it against elite comp!
Davis Walker (Home School)
Walker is a true sleeper in this class. He is the rare home schooled player so he is not seen during the high school season. That will make the spring even more critical for the sharp shooter!
Kee Hargrow (Hyde Park)
Hargrow is a long and rangy forward that has been on radar for a while. He has the athleticism and physical tools to be a D1 player. This spring we will see if he can put it all together.
Darius Buford (Bolingbrook)
Buford had a solid junior campaign. The smooth scoring two guard has developmental upside and is in position to have a big next couple months.
Aquan Smart (Niles North)
Smart was a role player as a sophomore for Niles North and took on a bigger role this year. We didn’t see much of him during the year, but are looking forward to seeing his development as a prospect.
Antoine Bloxton (Bogan)
Bloxton flashed last summer and then disappeared as he sat out the first half of the high school season for Bogan. He went off for the Bengals the second half of the season and is primed to see a huge bump in the rankings.
