Recruiting Report: Devon Hannah (2017)
Roosevelt’s 6-foot-2 2017 wing Devon Hannah won’t be playing football this fall; his entire concentration is on basketball and preparing for winter. “No football this year, just living in the gym and weight room really,” Hannah told NHR. “While also…

Devon Hannah is another D3-level wing prospect suiting up for Wear Out The Net this spring and summer. He’s got a big year ahead of him; the rest of his summer will be about playing team ball with WOTN, then this winter he will be the focal point as Roosevelt’s top returning scorer.
Devon averaged 8.6 PPG last year while his older brother Elijah and speedy guard Martez Rodgers were in double digits. Both have graduated, and the Teddies will now look to Devon and crew to step up as they battle in the Minneapolis City Conference.
“We’ve got a couple seniors,” Devon told NHR. “Jordan Johnston is a good shooter from the perimeter for us, and Reggie Rogers is an athletic wing that is also a great rebounder. Luke Barnes is a sophomore of ours who is gonna have to step in and hopefully play a big role as a center.”
Is he ready for the driver’s seat, without Elijah and Martez?
“It’ll definitely be different, and a lot harder,” Devon admitted. “I think I will be able to do enough this offseason to prepare myself to take on that leadership role this winter, though.”
But let’s not look at the winter just yet; Devon is had a blast this spring with his friends on the WOTN club squad coached by Blake Nicols.
“It’s been a great spring, definitely the best yet. Love being a part of the WOTN program,” Hannah said.
“It’s really the fact that it’s truly like a family. Not many kids can say they’ve been a part an AAU organization that care about one another the way we do. This spring and summer I’ve been trying to develop more consistency in my jump shot, becoming more athletic, and being an overall stronger player physically and mentally on the court.”
Most of Devon’s college interest has come from St. Thomas, Northwestern-St. Paul, Concordia-Moorhead, Dordt College, Augsburg, and Gustavus.
