Obviously, his height as an underclassmen is appealing to many potential suitors. However, his ability to attack the rim and to pass out of double teams makes schools even more interested to see how he progresses.
Harris is the first to admit that he is young and still has things to work on. He stated that his ability to finish with his left hand needs to improve.
As it currently stands, Harris has received interest from, “UCLA , ASU, Stanford, Pacifica and a couple jucos in AZ.”
Harris is most likely en route to playing at the NCAA Divison-1 level as he has skills and an array of abilities that cannot be coached.
Although he is pleased with the amount of interest he has received, he hopes to see it increase even further prior to the end of this club season. He stated, “My goal is to be seen by [a lot] of big time colleges and [I] hope to end [the club season] with at least at 2 offers.”
As far as what Harris is looking for in a school, he asserted, “Just a relationship with the coach on and off the court and a team where I shine and fit in.”
Assuming he continues to put in the work and trains at a high level, there should be multiple universities interested in him that fit that particular description. He has a lot of upside due to his great hands, strong passing abilities, and footwork. In addition, he appears to have tremendous work ethic as he has lost over 30 lbs. since walking on campus at Red Mountain. His potential seems to be through the roof.
This next high school season should be a great opportunity for Harris to show what he can do as Red Mountain lost a lot of experienced leaders. In order for the team to experience success Harris will have to take his game to another level. Fortunately, he is playing for one of the best basketball minds in Arizona with Todd Fazio, and a great club organization which plays against many high caliber programs.
