Very powerful getting in the lane where he can make plays for himself and others. As a scorer in the paint Hurt can knock down runners and layups. Dishes well to his shooters and bigs for quick dump off dunks. Solid pull up jump shooter especially from mid-range. Really improved his feel for the game from lead guard spot. Needs to be on the D1 radar in 2018.
He spoke about his sophomore season at Marian Catholic.
“I was very happy with how it went and making progress as a team. Me and Chase (Adams) and the core players played well. I think it was great stepping stones for next year.”
Where does he feel his game improved?
“My overall confidence. I think I am turning into more of a point guard now. I used to label myself as a point guard, but I wasn’t a point guard yet. Now I am one.”
Hurt updates us on this recruitment.
“Stanford is currently involved. Iowa, St. Louis, UIC, Butler, and Western Illinois.”
He recently took a pair of visits.
“Butler was good. It was a great atmosphere. I felt comfortable there. Western my brother goes there and I love the coaching staff at Western.”
Hurt stock continues to rise with his play for Team Rose and is trending up as one of the better lead guards in Illinois.
