SG Carson Camp (Normal West – 2020)
Camp burst on our radar with his play at the Highland Shootout. The junior is a sharp shooting wing with decent size at 6’3”. He was very efficient scoring 12 points on 5-5 from the field.
SF Cole Hernandez (Normal West – 2020)
Hernandez came off the bench to make a huge impact for Normal West. The 6’3” wing drained a pair of threes on both of his attempts. Also did a nice job on the defensive glass. He had 10 points and 5 boards.
PF Corey Walker (Normal West – 2021)
This 6’6” four man has good size and strength up front. Decent mobility. Caught a couple bullet passes in traffic for finishes. Developmental upside. Walker’s line read 7 points (3-4 FG) and 4 rebounds.
SG Nic Hemken (Edwardsville – 2020)
This gritty junior wing was active for Edwardsville. Really the only one who brought energy. He did a nice job on the glass. He finished with 8 points (3-5 FG) and 6 rebounds.
SG Carson Parker (Nashville – 2020)
Parker is one of the more intriguing juniors in southern Illinois. Smooth wing with athletic pop. His forte is shooting it from mid-range with a feathery jumper. Connected on an array of one dribble pull ups. Improving ball handler which allows him to score off the bounce. Parker’s line was 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
PG Parker Wolfe (Effingham – 2021)
Wolfe is the younger brother of Effingham’s star, but the sophomore continues to emerge as a go to player in his own right. The small lefty lead guard is a gritty leader who can shoot it, but struggled in this one going 1-5 from deep. Wolfe got in the lane where he had a sweet and-1 finish. Made some quality passes and rebounds well on the defensive end for his size. 14 points (5-12 FG), 5 rebounds, and 3 dimes.
SF Nathan Thompson (Effingham – 2021)
There is a lot to like with this projectable 6’4” wing. He has a sweet looking perimeter shooting stroke which he connected on a pair against Nashville. Also had a quick finish inside. Length plays well on the defensive end. Thompson scored 9 points.
PG Landon Moore (Bloomington – 2021)
Moore is a point guard that has been known for his three point shooting this season. That is exactly where he contributed in this game going 2-5 from beyond the arc for his 6 points. Would like to see him add a little more in other areas.
PF Armond Williams (East St. Louis – 2020)
So much upside with this 6’8” junior post. Williams is a long and lanky big man that runs the floor so well. That was evident early when he sprinted the length of the court and got a pass for a dunk. Quick to the offensive glass for a put back. Williams has potential as a rim protector. He had 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks in just 12 minutes of action.
SG Tommie Williams (Belleville West – 2021)
Williams is a high upside two guard that is a top 20 sophomore in Illinois. On this team of veterans he just plays his role. In this particular game that was getting after it on the defensive end of the floor. His only bucket came on a wing three. Rebounded well. He had 3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
