Intro: Kennedy Brown (2020)
Bogan 2020 power forward Kennedy Brown was one of the breakout prospects of the early part of the high school season out of the Chicago area. We had never heard of him before the Chicago Elite Classic, but the 6’8” four man started and made a huge impact in their game. Long and angular post that was extremely active. Quick second jump off the floor with his springy legs. Snatched rebounds in traffic. Caught passes in tight spaces for finishes and got on the offensive glass for put backs. He had 7 points (3-5 FG) and 9 rebounds. Developmental upside here!
Brown transferred into the CPS power from Evergreen Park where he played last season. What was it like contributing on the big stage at the Chicago Elite Classic?
“It is my first year here and it was my first big game. I was excited and nervous, but it was a great game.”
At his previous school he took on a bigger scoring load. This year he is part of a team with three legit college post prospects.
“Last year I was the main scorer, but here I have to play my role and watch Rashaun Agee.”
Who did he run with on the travel team circuit last spring and summer?
“I played with RAW Athletics and the Chicago Demons.”
At this point there isn’t anything going on with recruiting as he is a relative unknown. This is a player worth tracking his progress throughout the season and into the spring.
