10 Best: Paul VI vs. Flint Hill Scrimmage
FAIRFAX, VA — Paul VI hosted Flint Hill on Wednesday as both teams continued their preseason preparations. Here we recap this competitive scrimmage with the 10 best.
MVP | ANTHONY HARRIS | PVI ’19
Anthony Harris was his team’s catalyst in a number of area’s. Defensively, he was active and alert off the ball, and solid on the ball. Offensively, Harris showcased confidence in his perimeter jump shot and scored from all three levels, finishing with 31 points.
BEST BIG MAN | QUDUS WAHAB | FLINT HILL ’19
Qudus Wahab drew plenty of attention from PVI’s defense, which did a good job denying him the ball for a majority of the contest. Wahab was relentless and managed to stay productive on both ends with his shot blocking, rebounding, and scoring.
BEST POINT GUARD | JEREMY ROACH | PVI ’20
Jeremy Roach controlled the tempo of his team’s attack, which was generally fast paced. Roach demonstrated good vision and efficiently when reading ball screens, keeping his teammates involved but also looking for his shot when he felt the need.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | JOJO FREEMAN | PVI ’20
Josiah Freeman did a bit of everything for PVI, including being active at the top of their press. Freeman scored effortlessly at times, showing the ability to get to his spots quickly. He also had some nice assists.
BEST SHOOTER | XAVIER JOYNER JR. | PVI ’19
Xavier Joyner Jr. knocked down a handful of three pointers in this contest, showcasing a confident shooting stroke and the knowledge where to be to receive the ball in dangerous situations. Joyner is a heat check guy who can get hot at any moment if left unattended to.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | DUG MCDANIEL | PVI ’22
Dug McDaniel plays with great pace for a young player. McDaniel’s ability to create space and pull-up on a dime is impressive, but his vision is also superb.
BEST UNSIGNED SENIOR | JORDAN HAIRSTON | FLINT HILL ’19
Jordan Hairston worked hard defensively, picking up his man and not giving him much room to operate. Hairston started off the scrimmage with a smooth pull up jump shot, but did a nice job of finding others in open areas.
BEST HUSTLE GUY | TREVOR KEELS | PVI ’21
His shot wasn’t really falling today, but Trevor Keels found other ways to impact the game. Keels played with tremendous energy; crashing the offensive boards, recording numerous deflections, and providing solid weak-side help defense.

Anthony Harris contributed up with three of the most exciting plays in this contest. There was one play in particular that stood out. Harris created a turnover from a deflection and was in possession in the corner where he found a wide open teammate with an accurate bullet pass.
BEST NEWCOMER | JUSTIN FRAISER | FLINT HILL ’20
Justin Fraiser had some nice moments for Flint Hill, showing good scoring prowess on the wing. Fraiser provided good floor spacing and was a threat to knock down shots.
