At the end of September, the Prep Hoops Virginia staff had the pleasure to bring together some of the rising talents in the state at the Top 250 showcase, and it was full of established players along with names that have yet to scratch the surface.
One of the names that popped up as the day went on was freshman guard, Ethan Millirons out of Auburn High School.
Millirons featured his quick-release shot from multiple spots on the floor along with his brilliant court vision. Growing up playing the point guard position, he understands what it means to get everyone involved, which isn’t necessarily easy to do in a showcase setting.
Utilizing the drive-and-kick in the half court, and moving the ball to the center of the floor on the fast break proved that his basketball IQ is present.
Entering his first year at the high school ranks, Millirons will be under the direction of his father, Terry Millirons, who has coached Auburn since the 2013-2014 season.
“He’s not a real flashy kid,” Millirons said about his son’s game. “He’s not going to dominate the ball a lot, he sees the floor very well and he gets everyone involved.
“Whatever team he plays on, that team will always have better ball movement.”

At the varsity level, Millirons will be utilized at both guard positions as the Eagles have another point guard returning. Due to the fact he is efficient by moving without the ball in his hands, Millirons also makes a solid shooting guard.
On the flip side, Auburn is quite young. Along with Millirons, the Eagles are mainly made up of freshman and sophomore. Although they may not see immediate success, they sure do have a bright future.
“We are going to be a team that will be pretty good down the road,” Millirons said.
Naturally, only being a freshman, Millirons has yet to hear from any college programs but based on his performance at the Top 250 showcase, the potential is there.
