Prospect spotlight: Nathan Burger (2019)
A rising guard, Blue Valley Northwest senior Nathan Burger is coming off a strong offseason and hopes to take his game to new heights this season with the Huskies.
A 6’3 2019 shooting guard, Burger likes to spot up and shoot 3-pointers, can get to the rim and is capable of creating scoring opportunities for others.
He spent the offseason competing for Drive5 17U and says the experience helped him grow as a player.
“It was a really fun experience playing in big tournaments, where the competition is the best, and that has helped me prepare for the upcoming season,” Burger said.
This offseason, Burger says he has been working on his ball handling and ability to create off the dribble.
“’ve been working a lot on my dribble moves in traffic and contested finishing,” Burger said. “I’ve also been lifting pretty often to get my body ready for the season.”
A fan of LeBron James, Burger says his dad has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“My dad has probably had the most influence on basketball for me,” he says. “He’s always supporting me as much as he can and he’s been by my side since the day I picked up a basketball and I can’t thank him enough.”
