First Team
Tyler Johnson (Mpls North). Johnson led the Polars to a state title. Tyler scored a team high 15 points per game for the Polars while also leading the squad in rebounding, steals, and blocks plus he was second in assists.
Bryce Irsfeld (Browerville). Bryce led the Tigers to 26 wins scoring 27.5 points per game with 7.4 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and nearly three steals a game. Took Bryce to the state tournament for only the second time in school history.
Pat Dembley (Mpls North). Produced a dozen points a contest for the state champions while also leading them in assists at just under five a game. Dembley had a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.
Chase Grinde (Spring Grove). Chase put up 23 points and four rebounds a contest for a 28-2 Lions team that was considered the second best in Class A until they were upset by Goodhue in the sectional final.
Jesse Bergh (Lake Park-Audubon). Playing in his second season of basketball the 6-foot-9/6-foot-10 Bergh scored 23 points a game with 12. 4 rebounds and 4.1 blocks a game. His team came from nowhere to win 26 games.
Second Team
Taylor Slagter (Central MN Christian). With 17.4 points and 6.3 rebounds on a balanced team Taylor led the Bluejays to 28 wins out of 32 shooting 54 percent from the floor (37 percent at the arc).
Cole Dahl (Northern Freeze). Dahl led his team to the section title game with 20.2 points and eight boards a night. Team was much better than expected this season.
Isaac Johnson (Minneapolis North). Gave the state champion Polars just under 13 points and five boards a game and ranked in the top three on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists. Also was top North defender.
Jericho Sims (Cristo Rey Jesuit). Sims gave an improved Greyhound team 23 points and 12 rebounds a game leading them to 18 wins playing every role on a much improved team
Grant Rohrer (MCC). A double-double machine that led his team to a 26-4 record and at last check the numbers read 26-13 on average. Headed to Northwestern College out of the state next year.
Third Team
Rob McClain (Red Lake). Led Red Lake to the state semi-finals averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, 4.5 steals, and four blocks a game. Did everything including run the point.
Jamil Jackson (Mpls North). Scored 13.5 points with 5.9 rebounds a contest (both were second on the team). He shot 48 percent from the floor, 20 percent from the arc, and 68 percent from the foul line.
Isaac Fink, Springfield. On a balanced offensive team with a lot of youth Fink gave Springfield 21 points per contest and was also a playmaker with 4.6 assists a game and grabbed just under eight boards a night as a frosh.
Mitchell Weber (St. Clair). The 6-foot-5 post put up 15.6 points and 8.6 rebounds a game this year shooting 56 percent from the floor for a 22 win team that made the state tournament.
Odell Wilson IV (Mpls North). The tough and respected 6-foot-5 post gave North 12.2 points and four boards a game shooting 54 percent from the floor. So respected for his consistency.
Fourth Team
Carter Kopet (Cleveland). The young guard was all league for the second straight year. Led the two loss team in scoring and in assists and is on his way to four all league seasons. A name to start knowing.
Chris Tungseth (Hillcrest Lutheran Academy). Hillcrest was the last small school team to lose this year going undefeated through mid-January. Tungseth was a big part of that with 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, and four assists a game.
Archie Winans (Mt Iron-Buhl). Brought the Rangers back to state for the first time in 11 years putting up 27 points a game with seven boards and around seven assists a game. Did everything for his team leading them to 24-7 .
Griffin Chase (Nevis). Chase scored 19 plus a night and Nevis won 22 games as they continue to be one of the more consistent northern Minnesota programs.
Tanner Vogel (Springfield). Springfield lead guard that created for himself and others putting up strong numbers. Team has a bright future.
Fifth Team
CJ Woda (Heritage Christian). Woda scored 19 a game for a 21 win club. One of the more talented juniors in Class A he’s helped make Heritage a contender each night.
Konrad Buekers (Pine River-Backus). Konrad put up 15 points, nine boards, and seven assists a game as a 6-foot-4 do everything senior on a 22 win club that was ranked for part of the year.
Noah Jiskra (Lyle/Pacelli). Noah gave the A’s 18 points, five boards and three assists a game. Was the Austin Daily Herald Player of the Year and is going to Gustavus next year.
Brian Robinson (Prairie Seeds). Scored 20 a game for a team that made the section final after winning 23 games this winter.
Darnell Goggleye (North Woods). Became the school’s all time leading scorer while leading the team to a memorable 26-3 season.
Tanner Heinsius (BBE). Scored 24 a night for the Jags ranking with one of the top Class A scorers in the state.
Jacob McNamara (Goodhue). Had to have somebody from Goodhue on here although honestly that was as team contribution as it gets. McNamara was the leading scorer and rebounder at 9.4 points and 8.1 rebounds a game.
