Top Scorers from Summer Challenge
From the games, I was able to watch this weekend here are my top scorers. There were tons of small college prospects mixed in with some talented D1 guys as well.
Jaeden Zackery 2019 Kessel Heat Point Guard
Zackery was fantastic this weekend dicing defenses with his great ball handling skills and change of pace. He threw defenders for a loop. Zackery has a solid jumper from the outside. He made his bread and butter attacking the basket off the bounce. He could not only score but also passed the ball really well.
Daniel Garza 2019 SABO Gold Guard
Garza had a great showing this weekend consistently proving his value as a knockdown shooter that could score at any level. He attacked the basket drawing a lot of foul calls with his quickness and smart plays. Garza is a gamer. In the biggest moments when SABO Gold needed a bucket, he answered the call.
Dawson Garcia 2020 D1 Minnesota Wing
Garcia is a spectacular talent on the Wing for D1 Minnesota. He can post up like a big and get his or step out and hit a jumper. Every way a 6’10 Wing can score he did it. Garcia does everything so smoothly and seemingly effortlessly. He has a bright future on the court and is easily a lock for a High Major Division I program. Garcia is a name we will be hearing soon making noise in the NCAA Tournament.
Jamil Jones 2019 Rockford 5-0 Jones
Jones was outstanding at slashing and finding creative ways to get to the basket. He scored the ball very consistently for Rockford 5-0 Jones giving them a scoring force they could count on each game out. Jones has an okay shot but mainly depended on using his quickness and athleticism to get to the hoop.
Brennan Timm 2021 Wisconsin Rap Wing
Time was money all weekend long for Wisconsin Rap bringing them great scoring from the 3 spot. He scored in a variety of ways leading to the defense keying on him, which opened up shots for others. Timm was a good scorer for Wisconsin Rap all weekend.
Reid Larson 2019 Wisconsin Academy Wing
Larson plays with supreme confidence that he is going to make every shot. The 6’3 high volume shooter can get hot quickly. He thrives slashing to the basket or popping out for catch and shoot opportunities. Larson filled it up for Wisconsin Academy. He can score from both three-point and mid-range.
Tevin Smith 2021 Meanstreets Guard
Smith diced the defense this weekend with a quick steady handle on the rock speeding past defenders to the rack. He also displayed a respectable jumper that got better as the weekend went along. Smith is a Guard to keep an eye on for the future. He put on a show in the championship game proving that when the stakes get higher he is even better.
Samuel Hoiberg 2021 Breakaway Basketball Guard
Hoiberg is a sharpshooter that came out hot from the get-go. He scored an early 8 points scoring at all three levels that energized his squad. He followed up with another stellar performance showing his ability to be an effective score. Hoiberg has a beautiful form shot that fell all weekend long.
Zach Vaia 2019 Breakaway Point Guard
Vaia got to his spots on the floor with ease off the bounce. He can pass well at the Point Guard spot, but the scoring numbers he put up were the most impressive thing he brought to the table. Being able to score at all three levels makes Vaia really tough to stop. He is going to make a nice small college Point Guard with his speedy dribble and ability to pull up on a dime.
