Big Shots Charlotte : 2019 Top Performers
Prep Hoops took in a few days of action in at the Big Shots Charlotte event being held in Indian Trail, NC. The event was played at Carolina Courts. Lets take a look at some of the 2019 Top Performers from the Palmetto State.
Chico Carter Jr – Cardinal Newman – Team Charlotte (pictured on front)
Carter Jr. led the way and collected MVP honors for Team Charlotte. Carter Jr. is ranked #9 in the Palmetto State 2019 Class. Carter Jr. is quick end to end on the floor. Carter Jr. showed his nice mid-range game along with using his body to fight off defenders.
Isaiah Pizarro – JL Mann (Greenville) – South Carolina Playmakers
Pizarro is just productive every time I see him play. Pizarro a undersized post has great footwork and he has ability to knock people around in the paint. Pizarro shows a nice soft touch on the foul line. Pizarro helped the South Carolina Playmakers come back and win the Bronze Championship.
Darius Boatwright – Dillon HS – Big Shots South Carolina
Boatwright finished with 5 dunks today in the a game vs the Southern Kings. Boatwright 6’7 prefers to play on the perimeter and has the ability to hit 3 pointers. Boatwright must add weight and strength for the next level. Boatwright lacks any kind of contact at all when on the floor.
Bradley Foulks – Lexington HS – South Carolina Kings
Foulks recently joined the South Carolina Kings after playing with the Carolina Wolves. Foulks was all over the floor for the South Carolina Kings. Foulks a combo guard has a good feel for the game along with a nice mid-range game.
Caleb Leverette – South Aiken Baptist – Southern Kings
Leverette wasn’t here on Sunday for the Southern Kings. Leverette 6’3 averaged 27 ppg this past season at the small SCISA 1-A school. Leverette a shooting guard is a very deceptive athlete.
Mark Mazyck – Summerville HS – Hardwood Warriors
Mazyck is a tweener on the floor and seems to be the best around the basket. Mazyck did hit a few 6-8 footers on the baseline but that was the extent of his perimeter game.
Kamryn Manuel – Blythewood HS – G.W.P. Sixers
Manuel a undersized post should see some quality minutes this season for Head Coach Zeke Washington and the Bengals. Manuel doesn’t play football likes to draw contact in the paint and has great footwork. Manuel made a strong impression back in June at Coker Team Camp with a blue collar mindset in the paint.
