4th of July Explosive Prospects
The 4th of July came early in Arizona as a couple of top tier prospects were recently added to the mold who are quite explosive. In addition to enjoying firework shows, take some time to check out these new prospects, Ty Harper and Devan Cambridge, who are capable of highlight reel plays on every possession.
4th of July Explosive Prospects
Ty Harper 6’3 SG 2020 Team Harden
Little is known as to where Harper will play high school basketball next year. However, what is known is that he will play with Team Harden this July and that he can jump out of the gym.
His first event since coming to Arizona was the Southwest All-American Camp. Needless to say, he left everyone in awe due to his highlight reel dunks and bouncy displays.
Harper will be a good addition to Team Harden as they were seeking an athletic wing. Offensively, with the skilled guards and bigs of Harden’s 16U team, he will be able to get into the paint at will. Further, his athleticism will be highlighted by the passing skills of the guards and their willingness to hit ahead.
While many marvel at his obvious athleticism, he is also a capable shooter from deep who attacks the rim with relentless aggression. He finishes well below the rim as well.
Harper looks poised to have a huge July and continue to make a name for himself. One of AZ’s top 16U teams just got that much better! Here are some of his highlights from this past season.
Devan Cambridge 6’5 SG 2019 Hillcrest Prep
Cambridge is another elite level athlete. Highlight reel dunk after highlight reel dunk can be found by merely searching his name. He is a well-known prospect as many have him listed as a 4* prospect.
As far as offers are concerned, Nick Weaver stated that he has offers from, “Georgia Tech, ETSU, Kentucky State, Hartford, Green Bay, Austin Peay, WKY, Miami of Ohio, Furman, Brown, and Campbell.” Further, he has interest from, “Tennessee, Texas Tech, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Northwestern.”
Cambridge comes into the state and immediately is one of the most sought after prospects in the state. Further, he jumps into the top 10 for 2019 prospects.
Much like Harper, his athleticism and bounce is what gets him noticed by many. However, what college coaches love is that he has good size and strength to go with a solid skill set. He moves extremely well without the basketball and can shoot it at a good rate from 3. Defensively, there is no reason for him to not be an elite on ball defender. He moves well laterally, has a good vertical and length.
He has also taken care of himself off of the court as he will carry a 3.3 GPA with him into Hillcrest Prep.
Cambridge is yet another top tier prospect to come into this state to play for Hillcrest Prep. This has been a great summer for Hillcrest Prep as former prospect DeAndre Ayton was recently drafted #1 by the Phoenix Suns. In addition, Cambridge and Dalon Terry made the decision to come aboard. They will make the backcourt with Kyrie Walker that much more potent.
