Saturday, October 17th I attended the 1st annual Dillon Brooks Invitational at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. Many AIA teams were in the building plus some local top prep teams mixed in with Grind Session teams from out of town. I ended up watching nearly 25 teams.

A bigger guard who plays a lot on or off the ball. He is a better passer then he gets credited with and plays off of the pick and roll game or iso-ball. He will hit the three off the catch or pull, dribble past his initial defenders and score it in traffic with and-1's.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] Perry

A scoring point guard is a tough cover. He puts a ton of pressure on the opposing team with his incredible speed with the ball, high level athleticism and the ability to burst down the lane at any time to score. He will finish off tough reverse layups, dunk it or shoot the three off the dribble with real range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2328086' first='Amari' last='Dukes'] Sequoia Pathfinder

A bigger guard is a newcomer from out of state. He has ideal size for position and he will come in the game and is looking to fire away from the perimeter. He will shoot it with off the dribble threes and off the catch. He rebounds well in his area and brings high confidence to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='3796225' first='Ronny' last='Ewanke'] Bella Vista Prep OTE (Pictured)

A massive post player from Cameroon. He has great size, easy athleticism and real skill level. He will score it from inside and out with rip thrus, dunks way above the rim and will step out and shoot the three. He rebounds in his area and will alter or block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2746700' first='Carter' last='Glass'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Simply put the undersized combo guard goes thru stretches where he is the best shooter in 6A or the AIA. The ball comes off his hands in a blink of an eye and he will take a couple dribbles and pull-up from mid-range. He is quick enough to get a step but is best just shooting. He is also scrappy on defense to collect steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2156657' first='Liam' last='Pavey'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A bigger combo guard can score the ball from all levels and handles some of the lead guard role and plays off of Byrd. He is more of a natural scorer with threes off the catch or pull, dribble drives with a sneaky burst to score inside or he will get fouled. When him and Glass are playing well, the Eagles are a tough out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612509' first='Jalen' last='White'] Bella Vista Prep OTE

One of the top senior performers of the long day was White. He has incredible size and he is a rare pro level athlete. He will literally score on the break with full windmills, tip dunks, lobs way above the rim and perimeter jumpers with high elevation from mid to the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276224' first='Tre' last='Wilkins'] Perry

A big time addition for the Pumas is Wilkins. Tre is a true combo guard and he is a very good decision maker and a smart passer. He is a low volume turnover player always playing the right way. He is a deep perimeter three point shooter with a quick trigger and huge confidence.
