The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Terre Haute North Patriots.

Quick Hitters

Went 24-4 last season.

Lost to New Albany in semi state.

Head Coach Todd Woelfle starts his 19th year as head coach. Luckily for them, they still bring back a solid core led by senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='3755682' first='Blake' last='Hammond']. After being one of their top pieces for the last few years, the high-motor forward will step in as the guy for the Patriots. He brings back averages of 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game from last season. He comes into this season with offers from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Purdue Northwest.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2414953' first='Mason' last='Loyd']

The Patriots lost five of their top six scorers from last season, so that opens up plenty of opportunities for guys to step into key roles. A guy that I think can be a secondary scoring option for Terre Haute North is senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2414953' first='Mason' last='Loyd']. Loyd is going to have the ball in his hands a ton for the Patriots this upcoming season, as he is a physical guard who consistently makes the right plays. His scoring is going to have to take a big jump in order for Terre Haute North to have success, but there is no question that he can be a consistent shot-maker.

Other Key Roster Members

Quentin Parker

[player_tooltip player_id='2920146' first='Braxton' last='Glover']

Ayden Martin

[player_tooltip player_id='2560418' first='Trenton' last='Woelfle']

[player_tooltip player_id='2549894' first='Jonathan' last='Purdy']

Chase Millington

[player_tooltip player_id='2560393' first='Lawson' last='Shepperd']

Parker Strole
