KY Expo '26: Doneah's Top Performers

The 2026 Kentucky Expo gathered over 85 athletes in Louisville this past weekend for a day full of competitive play. Although more than a handful of players successfully made a name for themselves or boosted their stock, here are my top 5 performers that stood out amongst the crowd.    In terms of dominance, Noah's got my vote as one of the most effective of the KY Expo. He got whatever he wanted around the rim – drop step layups, offensive rebound putbacks, bully ball finishes. If it was near the rim, it was Noah's for the taking. His sturdy frame, precise footwork, and intensity made his job easy for him against mismatched opponents. When he got bored in the paint, he amused himself by knocking down 3pt fgs which he did at an efficient rate.     It's quite possible that Jonah had the highest IQ of any prospect at the KY Expo. He zipped several passes through traffic in pick-and-roll situations that caused the sidelines to react. His outlet passing accuracy also stood out after throwing several court-length dimes that landed in the perfect spot for his teammates to convert on. Jonah's wizardry didn't stop with his court vision. He got to the rim with ease and also caused problems with his ball pressure in the backcourt.     Deuce notably connected on 5 3pt fga at the KY Expo, possibly the most of any prospect in a single game at the event. En route to doing so, he drained 4 of the 5 on consecutive possessions and all off the dribble. As you can imagine, most people in the gym who witnessed reacted in awe, to say the least. Beyond this premier shooting performance, Deuce was his squad's energy guy. His gritty defense resulted in several fast breaks throughout the day, and his larger-than-life personality was contagious for his teammates.     Tre was by far the most vocal player that I watched in depth at the KY Expo. He plays with a winning mindset and didn't mind if the entire gym heard him directing and encouraging his teammates. His leadership, however, was far from his only contribution. He was confident in his decision making as a lead guard, oftentimes maneuvering through traffic to finish at the rim or making the right read to find cutters in the lane. His 3-ball also fell at a respectable clip during which he flashed a bit of range.     Though few things may be guaranteed in life, John's ability to get to the cup certainly was at the KY Expo this past Sunday. Changing pace and direction, finishing with both hands at a high level, absorbing bumps, altering his shot midair... he did a little bit of whatever was needed to get a bucket. His size and skillset at his position served him well in creating mismatches that he capitalized on throughout the event.
