Arizona Freshman Expo: My Top 20 Standouts V1

The Arizona Freshman Expo gave me a good opportunity to get an early look at a number of prospects from the 2030 class. There was plenty of talent in the gym, with players standing out in different ways through their production, skill set, physical tools and overall impact on the floor. After watching each game and evaluating the talent, here are my Top 20 standouts from the Prep Hoops Arizona Freshman Expo.    Quick release from three with the ability to get his shot off in a hurry. Has a quick burst off the dribble with a good handle and showed the ability to create space before getting into his pull-up. Really good shooter from multiple spots on the floor and can stop quickly and rise into his jumper. Also showed good feel as a passer, seeing the floor well and delivering accurate hit-ahead passes in transition.     Good first step off the dribble and plays with physicality when attacking the rim. Finished well through contact and showed the ability to go coast-to-coast with control. Plays well off the ball, attacking closeouts and using his first step to get past defenders. Also showed the ability to knock down threes off the catch.     Athletic wing threat who runs the floor hard in transition and finishes over the top with ease. Really good finisher around the rim who can finish in a variety of ways with high lays, floaters, acrobatic finishes and dunks. Plays at a great pace with urgency in his movement and is constantly active on the floor. Rebounds and can push the ball himself to start the break. Plays with a big motor, blocking shots and sprinting the floor hard in transition. Also showed good passing instincts and the ability to find teammates on the move.     Good passer who does a good job finding teammates in stride and making reads with the ball. Can score it at all three levels and creates well off the dribble. Does not shy away from contact when attacking the rim and showed athletic finishing ability around the basket. Had the fadeaway middy going on auto from both the left and right side, creating a ton of separation to get clean looks. Crashes the glass well and was active as a rebounder.     Played with a lot of physicality getting to the rim and was able to get to the basket almost whenever he wanted. Gets out in transition and can finish above the rim, while also showing the ability to knock down shots from three. Good handle on the ball and played with a ton of confidence throughout the event. His pace and true scoring ability stood out most, showing he can create his own offense and put pressure on the defense in a variety of ways     Really good handle on the ball and used his change of pace to create throughout the game. Got to his pull-up middy and converted it at an efficient rate, while also shooting it very well off the catch from three. Made good reads as a passer and directed the offense with a high IQ, knowing when to create his own shot and when to get others involved. His scoring was loud, but it was the smoothness of his game and how naturally he controlled the action that made his performance so intriguing.     Serious threat both on and off the ball and very difficult to keep in front. Shoots it well from three and can create his own looks with pull-up threes off the dribble and sidesteps. Gets to the rim with ease and has real blow-by speed off the dribble. Showed creativity as a finisher with euros around the basket and is a high-flying athlete who can finish above the rim in traffic. Plays with a quick, urgent pace but also has the ability to change speeds based on the flow of the game.
