JR EYBL 2030 Bigs Ready to Make a Freshman Impact

The jump to high school basketball is a big one, but several prospects from the 2030 class look ready to make an immediate impact. After standing out on the JR EYBL circuit this summer, these players enter their freshman seasons with an opportunity to quickly establish themselves at the high school level. Taking a closer look at some of the 2030s who could be in line for big freshman years.    Bopanzi logged minutes on the Grind Session with OSL last season and helped a NY Lightning 2030 team look like one of the best in the country through most of 2026. At 6-foot-10, he has great shot blocking instincts and can control the glass. Despite his slender frame he is a solid finisher at the rim and is a lob threat as well.     One of the most physically dominant players in the middle school circuits over the last two years, Nunez continues to expand the range on his jumper. For the bruising big man, it's a welcome next step in his development- and further range and consistency there make his game less dependent on needing to grow into a true center in the long run. He has good passing chops out of the high post, and as he refines his decision making will be all the more dangerous.     There just aren't many, if any, rising freshmen who can match the physical tools that Moudouyi possesses. At 6-foot-8 with the ability to handle in the open floor and great upper body strength, he is a walking one man fast break. In the halfcourt, he thrives as a modern four, using his quickness to score out of the high post or hitting jumpers from the foul line area. As refines his game, he will stay amongst the elite of the class.     Another modern four man who plays with an edge, Akason is one of the more intriguing long term prospects from this year's [program_tooltip program_id='2078615' first='NY' last='Rens'] 2030 group. He's a great rebounder and shows good touch both at the rim and from beyond the arc. Deceptively athletic, Akason also brought value as a shot blocker at different points of the season. A transfer to Green Farms Academy (CT) represents a slight step up in competition while Akason will still be in a position to produce in a real way.     Eaddy is an ideal fit for the modern game due to the fact that he's both a bruiser at the rim and capable of stepping away from the basket and being dangerous as a passer. He showed flashes of being able to knock down an open three- but that isn't consistent yet. Still, his rebounding, defensive instincts, and willingness to do the little things mean he likely plays a major role at Bonner this season
