Recruiting Report: Jackie Johnson III (2021)
Jackie Johnson III has announced a few changes recently that shake up where he will play this summer and the next school year.
Let’s start with this summer. Jackie has been playing with the KC Run GMC 16U team who plays on the Under Armour circuit but will finish out the summer with Mokan Elite’s 15U team.
“It was just a better all-around decision for me. For my development” says Jackie. He expressed a lot of gratitude to the program and what they have done for him but is excited to move forward with Mokan.
Once AAU season has concluded, as many may know, Jackie will not be suiting up for Wichita North as he had the prior season. He has transferred to Wichita Southeast who most recently saw Israel Barnes graduate and commit to Weber State University.
Southeast has their next superstar through 2021.
While Southeast was not a part of a high school league this June, Jackie says that he has been in the gym consistently working out.
I was able to catch Jackie the other weekend and he looked sharper than ever, drawing comparisons to James Harden through his effortless scoring and playmaking ability.
As far as recruitment goes, Jackie has been hearing from quite a few schools.
Wichita State, Kansas, Memphis, Tulane, and Stanford are some of the notable schools vying to get his attention and schedule a visit.
At this time Jackie says he has no visits planned in the near future. He is, however, looking for a school that has a coaching staff he can vibe and connect with and one that will develop him for the next level.
Look for Jackie to continue to pick up steam in the recruiting realm across the nation as we continue through summer and head into the next school year.
