Rockford East Summer League: 29' And 30' Underclassmen To Track

The Rockford East Summer League is in full session on Monday nights during June. I had a chance to take in a handful of games during the league's second week yesterday. Here we will take a look at some of the 2029 and 2030 prospects who are getting varsity minutes and will impact this upcoming season on their scholastic teams.    Didn't grab a ton of minutes tonight but enough to see that the upside is here for the long term. True freshman that will see varsity tick on another competitive Viking squad that is senior led. Matured plus length and size for age with mobility. Gobbled up a couple offensive boards to put back and convert timing it well off the rim. Coordination is coming along and will be an effective inside anchor as time progresses.     A lead underclassmen guard for the Vikings that will collect a lot of minutes for another solid Guilford team. Bought a whole lot of energy as 6th man off bench tonight. Brings speed and agility to the floor. Tallied him for at least 3 3's on the night to help expand lead and help secure a 20+ margin win. Poised handle. Plays with with passion for the game to get teammates going. Bright future ahead next 3 years and will see stock continue rise.     One of two 2029 Forwards for the Tigers that will turn heads this year. Watched him compete in April with AAU squad. Continued to provide sound and balanced action tonight from inside and out. Functionable in multiple settings w or w/o ball. Anticipates in 1/2/2 defensive setting on top. Made a couple tough buckets beneath in heavy traffic. Fundamentally thorough. Not a stat stuffer at this point but that that will change as time progresses because of IQ and effort to affect game positively.     An impactful under classmen that will help win battles underneath. A strong and athletic frame with length. Provided sturdy mobility and balance around paint on the offensive side. Brings grit and effort. Crashed consistently and gobbled up a couple offensive boards to provide second chance opportunities. Defensively will stick on top of ½ ct trap with ability to anticipate in passing lanes. One of the better 2029's I saw tonight with the most upside.     Didn't collect a ton of minutes tonight in team's first game of evening but enough to see the value he will ultimately bring as time progresses to a young Tiger team. Athletically provides speed with or without the ball on the offensive side. Defensively tallied him for a couple steals to provide fast break opportunities while converting on one himself. Some skill to go but athleticism is there. A true freshmen who will provide meaningful tik for another competitive Byron squad.     Underclassmen that showed ability to stretch defense out with meaningful range. Tallied him for three triples with a couple of them being well off the line. A spacing threat who plays off team's motion while finding rhythmic shots within offensive flow. Volume shooter equipped with smooth stroke and release. Defensively dug competitively in lane lines to help disrupt driver. A 2030 that will provide perimeter offensive value at this stage along with IQ.     First time seeing the 2029 guard from Pec. Watched during team's second game of night. Matured feel defensively to get into passing lanes and know where to be at off the ball anticipating. Provides length at the wing and knows where to move without the ball in his hands. Had a cut through in lane line to convert and found success on a 2v1 finish with teammate going full blast. Smooth midrange from 17 off the catch is sufficient. Liked his ability to keep up with teams up pace scheme when it was a back and forth quick scoring affair at various times through the game. Will be a part of the main scene as an underclassmen and play significant role because of diverse skill and feel throughout.     New on the scene for J-Hawks and will get some valuable minutes as underclassman. Strong around the rim with balanced and even keeled demeanor. Played some bully ball underneath against more height a couple times to convert in heavy traffic. Anticipates in passing lanes with length and was successful on a tough offensive rebound put back. Nothing too finesse at this point but will use toughness and natural competitive feel to advantage to help make winning plays.
