Stock Risers : Carvers Bay Summer League
Prep Hoops took in the action from the first 2 days of the Carvers Bay Summer League. Lets see which players saw their stock rise from the event.
Wesley Brown (2020) – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville) (pictured on front)
Brown was solid both days here at the Carvers Bay Summer League. Brown 6’4 is a slender-sleek shooting guard who really likes to play out on the wing. Brown has really good length and doesn’t like to play with too much contact on the floor. Brown showed several times these past few days he likes the ball in his hands when ever possible.
Brown doesn’t play AAU currently with anyone on the circuit. Prep Hoops saw Brown play back in December 2017 vs Chester HS in which he scored 22 points in the game.
Carrele Cooper (2020) – Andrews HS
Cooper has slowly starting to figure somethings out at this level. Cooper will be accounted for to lead the Yellow Jackets this coming season with the graduation of a few key seniors. Prep Hoops first saw Cooper play back in the spring AAU period a year ago with the South Carolina Coastal Elite AAU program. Cooper now plays with Manzer AAU
Cooper was showing really good elevation off his shot this week. Cooper has a nice mid-range jumper and seems to play best from 15-17 feet. Cooper has good length in the pass lanes to pick up several deflections along the way.
Jamal Edmonson (2019) – Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville)
Edmonson has had a very good summer with his Swamp Cats teammates. Edmonson is so efficient from mid-range in with his game. Edmonson rebounds the ball well on both ends of the floor. Edmonson who averaged 21.6 ppg last season after transferring over from Northwood Academy is looking to play AAU this summer with Georgia South.
Edmonson has been playing varsity basketball this coming season fall it will be 6 years.
