Recruiting Report: Cody Mains (2019)
Cody Mains has been in dominant form so far at the Capitol Hoops Summer League. The 6-foot-7 forward, who has been very active on both ends of the floor for WT Woodson, looks primed for a productive senior season. Mains recently spoke with Prep Hoops about his overall game and recruitment.
PH: It’s been a little while since we last spoke. Could you just update me on which schools have been actively recruiting you?
CM: “Elon, Lafayette, American. A lot of D2’s and D3’s have opened up to me. York College, Shepherd, Shenandoah. Several others too, but I can’t really think of all of them right now.”
PH: What do you think has been the most improved part of your overall game since last season?
CM: “Probably just my physicality. That’s something I’ve tried to work on this spring, and I think I’ve improved a lot. Still trying to work on my shot. I missed some time recently with a sprained ankle, so I’m still getting back into a groove.”
PH: What type of feedback do you receive from coaches about your overall game? What do coaches like about you?
CM: “They like how I go for boards. They say that I could have a positive impact coming into their programs.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on right now?
CM: “Outside shot. Handles.”
PH: What’s an underrated part of your game?
CM: “Probably just finishing over people. Not many people think I can rise up.”
PH: How are your grades?
CM: “I have a 3.1 with an 1150 SAT score.”
PH: What is your schedule like for June? Will you be attending any elite camps?
CM: “I’m going to Lafayette, Elon, Army West Point, American, and College of Charleston.”
PH: What are your goals for the summer?
CM: “Just to get my name out there really.”
