KC Classic: Top Shooters
LAWRENCE, Kan. — The final day of the Kansas City Classic in Lawrence, Kan. on Sunday featured several players putting together solid performances. Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the top shooters at the event.
32 — Willie Dotson, 5’10, G, 2020, Lawrence (Kan.), Primetime Ballerz (top shooters)
Dotson is a terrific outside shooter capable of filling it up from long distance. He knocked down a pair of early 3-pointers in a contest on Friday against the KC Magic.
3 — Zac Genilo, 6’5, F, 2019, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.), KC Spurs Grey (top shooters)
Genilo can really shoot it from the outside and impressed with his ability to stroke it out of the corners especially. He has good length and a quick release and can be tough for opponents to challenge. He also shows the ability to put the ball on the floor a little and attack the basket off the bounce.
1 — Bo Gooch, 5’10, PG, 2019, Belle Plains (Kan.), MTXE Navy (top shooters)
A small school guard, Gooch is a tough competitor who handles the ball well, gets his team into their offense and doesn’t turn the ball over. He is a terrific outside shooter and knocked down several 3-pointers throughout the weekend for MTXE Navy.
20 — Jax Holland, 6’1, G, Maranatha Christian (Kan.), Marcus Denmon Elite (Top Shooters)
A terrific outside shooter, Holland had it dialed in throughout much of the weekend, knocking down several 3-pointers and helping his team put points on the board. He ha a smooth, quick release from behind the arc and has the ability to handle the ball a little on the perimeter as well.
33 — Zachary Schwinn, 5’7, G, Maur Hill-Mount Academy (Kan.), Kansas Cagers (point guard)
He’s not very big, but Schwinn showed on Saturday he can put points on the board with his outside shooting. He’s a crafty ball handler and competes at the defensive end. He scored eight quick points in the first half of a Saturday win over the KC Magic as he knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 18 to lead the Cagers.
