Santa Fe vs Broken Arrow was a hard fought game. The Wolves jumped out on the Tigers early, scoring in transition and playing their hassling full court defensive pressure. Santa Fe led by as much as 14 points and BA still managed to comeback and cut the lead to single digits. The Tigers played extremely hard as a team. They fought and fought no matter how many times the lead stretched against them. They had problems matching up with Santa Fe man to man, when the Tigers switched to a matchup zone where they saw success defensively. They started to force more turnovers and made Santa Fe take bad shots. Effectively slowing down the pace of Santa Fe, who is a fast pace team. Within the zone they used their length to their advantage and really stacked up big stops at the right time to cut into the lead before it was to late.

If they Tigers could have limited the turnovers throughout the game their could have been a different end result. But they let Santa Fe speed them up forcing them to make bad passes, take terrible shots and allow Santa Fe defenders to get steals that led to transition points. If Santa Fe would've shot the ball better from the free throw line the win wouldn't have been so hard fought for them. They still came out with the victory and landed themselves a spot hosting Regionals at the Wolves' Den.

The senior Guard was phenomenal in the open court and transition. The speed Money plays with is great, he is one of the fastest players in the state with the ball in his hand. Money lived in the paint and got to the free-throw line willingly, he also made big shots towards the end of the game to keep BA from having any chance at winning the game. Money broke defenders down, fought through contact and finished at the rim with ease. Also added 5 assist in his stat line. He found his teammates with multiple long passes advancing the ball in transition. Whenever Money is rolling Santa Fe are one of the hardest teams to beat in 6a.

The 2027 guard was the best player on the floor in last night's rematch against BA. He led all scorers with 23 points. McKinney was active from all three levels offensively, knocked down big shots for Santa Fe played tremendous defensively. He lived in the paint by taking defenders off the bounce breakaway steals he played really good. What really made McKinney stick out was his activity. He was consistently active throughout the whole game with rebounding, steals, running the floor, always cutting. They even attempted to throw him a backside lob. He played with a great motor the whole game. He's gonna be a player to watch during the playoffs.

Hopgood played well. He has been consistent in his role for the Wolves, lived in the paint vs BA getting offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds. He was every where! Hopgood used his frame to position himself in the best scoring position possible. Every time he received the ball in the post he went up strong and always kept the ball high.

I really believe he could've made the win a bit more easier of Santa Fe got him the ball a little more in the paint when BA switched into their matchup zone. Hopgood has a really great upside as he is only a sophomore, who has some really good fundamentals and awareness. Every game he's on the glass, running the floor and posting up trying to make things work. He'll be a force for the next two years.

The senior willed his team back into the game multiple times. At one point of the game, Dow was responsible for most of Broken Arrow's points. He was a man on a mission last night, lived in the paint on drives. While also handling the on ball pressure the Wolves threw at him. Showed off his athletic ability catching a nasty two hand lob and throwing it down in the mist of a tight game.

Another intriguing prospect is Mason. He's a 6'5" PG. Mason showed his ball handling and ability to handle the ball under pressure. Coming off an dislocated ankle injury, Gene played well considering his quick recovery. He also had a nice dunk coming off the baseline towards the end of the game. Mason looks like he will be back in rhythm for their playoff run and is a talent to watch.
