Plenty of players have signed on this week from the Palmetto State. Lets take a look in this article.
Dijon Goss has signed with Cape Fear Community College (Wilmington, NC) for next season. Goss 6’5 helped the Carvers Bay Bears to a 2nd place finish in the 2A State Tourney this past March. Goss averaged 14.5 ppg and 10.3 rebounds while leading the Bears to a (24-3) season. Goss finished his career with 832 points. Goss was ranked #52 in the Prep Hoops Palmetto State Class.
Tyrek Reed a running mate with Goss will head to Denmark Tech (Denmark, SC) next fall. Reed 5’6 point guard played 5 years of varsity basketball for the Bears. Reed averaged 10.5 ppg this season. Goss and Reed will play each other in NJCAA Region 10 basketball it least 2 times next season. Reed finished his high school career with 747 points.
Zach Johnson will continue his career at Catawba (NC) (NCAA D2) next season. Johnson 6’4 athletic forward played his high school ball at Saluda HS. Johnson averaged 11 ppg and 10 rebounds this season for the Tigers. Johnson is ranked #62 in the Prep Hoops Palmetto State Class.
EJ Porter is heading north to play at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA. Porter 6’3 played the last 3 seasons at Florence Christian. Porter is the son of Jeri Porter (Head Women’s Coach) at Francis Marion. Porter averaged just over 22 ppg this season for the Eagles.
Terrell Houston will play at Spartanburg Methodist College next season. Houston played this season at Lakewood HS after playing at Laurence Manning Academy. Houston 5’11 point guard averaged 9.8 ppg and 3.8 rebounds this season for the Gators.
O’Neil McBride 6’7 will look to do a post graduate year at Fork Union Military Academy (VA) this coming fall according to Myrtle Beach HS Head Coach Craig Martin. McBride averaged 10 ppg and 9 rebounds this season for the Seahawks.
Bryan Ward will attend Voorhees College (Denmark, SC) (NAIA) next fall to play for the Tigers. Ward a point guard from Stall HS averaged 6.3 ppg this season for the Warriors.
Goss, Reed, Houston and McBride all played in the Prep Hoops / Swanny’s Roundball Review UNSIGNED Senior Event back in late March.
