How did we do on our preview and predictions? We discuss that AND we talk about the Lorenson record breaking night!

Lake City at Byron

Prediction. Push. We would have had this as a toss up and the skilled and aggressive [player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] made it a 79-67 win for Lake City. The junior scored 47 points highlighted by five three pointers made. The 47 points broke the previous record of 43 points which was shared by Randy Breuer (former Gopher and Timberwolves center) and Ben Schramski (played football at CSP).

Lorenson is a player that is flying up the 2027 prospect list right now.

St. Paul Central at 5AAA St. Paul Johnson

Prediction.Correct. I had Central winning and sweeping the Central/Johnson games this year, that was correct. I said one point game, it was 69-63. Our player to watch was [player_tooltip player_id='2710243' first='Sefi' last='Whittington'] and he came up HUGE with 36 points scored highlighted by NINE threes. Whittington continues to have a fantastic senior year for Central averaging over 20 points a game now. They are likely to be a four seed in 4AAAA and they have lost just a couple games!

1A Henning at New York Mills

Prediction. Correct. I said Henning by 13, they won by 19. Another brilliant game from [player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] going into an opponent's place, a team that was 14-3, and putting up an impressive 31 points on 14 of 25 shooting with nine rebounds and four assists. Junior Zack Wiederich helped with 14. Bergen Roder led NYM with 18 but our featured pair combined for just 13 and 7 in this game after both had double-doubles in a game just a week ago.

10AAAA Hopkins at 9AAA Mankato East

Prediction. Correct. I thought Hopkins would win by a decent margin but 85 to 48 was not something that I had in mind. [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] had 25 points, six assists, and four rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id='2560534' first='Tre' last='Moore'] scored 18 points and [player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'] put up a 12 point, 13 rebound double-double. [player_tooltip player_id='1560798' first='Lucas' last='Gustafson'] had 13 and [player_tooltip player_id='1886972' first='Amari' last='Nobles'] had 11 for East.

3AAAA Buffalo at 8AA Southwest Christian

Prediction. Correct. We thought the Stars would put up a "spirited fight" but never did we think this game was going to go down to the wire. Third ranked Buffalo won 81-77 behind 28 points from [player_tooltip player_id='2397563' first='Thomas' last='Jordan'] and 26 points from [player_tooltip player_id='2126866' first='Matthew' last='Jordan']. [player_tooltip player_id='2845973' first='Jack' last='Burke'] had 21 for the Stars and [player_tooltip player_id='2447536' first='Jed' last='Streed'] scored 19. Southwest Christian is looking like an AA title contender right now in a serious way.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa at Triton

Prediction. WRONG. Our first incorrect prediction is ZM proving they are likely still a top ten Class AA team with a 51-37 win over Triton. Grady Streit had 14 points and seven rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id='2120492' first='Ethan' last='Miller'] had 12 points and 14 rebounds and [player_tooltip player_id='2411079' first='Aaron' last='Miller'] posted 12 points in the big win.

Eagan at 8AAAA Lakeville South

Prediction. WRONG. I got the winning team with 72 points right lol!. Look, I don't know what to do about South, I am 0-7 picking their gaems this year. Do I just stop picking their games? Do I pick them to lose all the time to give them good luck? Or do I pick every game hell bent on breaking this trend?

Eagan won 72-62 earning a big win and extending their winning streak to four games (and five out of six). This was a total balanced effort from Eagan who had SIX guys score between eight and thirteen points led by the 13 from Mikey McKenzie. Good turnaround there after a slip.

10AA Annandale at Watertown-Mayer

Prediction. CORRECT. We said Cards by ten, they won 80-53. [player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] scored a team high 22 but the Cards also got 18 from [player_tooltip player_id='2118467' first='Ben' last='Walter'], 15 from senior [player_tooltip player_id='2488736' first='Gabe' last='Westman'], and senior Owen Pederson had 14. Is anybody else getting 2022 vibes right now? Annandale is 18-2 led by a group of seniors (and Purcell) that are playing really well together in a wide open field.
