With a month left in their Freshman seasons, several players have emerged in this 2029 class over the last two months. On top of that, the class has a ton of depth across all positions. Especially in the back court. Here's a look at some players in this class who have a lot of long term potential but may not be seeing a lot of opportunity right now.

Collins is the heir apparent to Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1543633' first='Gavin' last='Murphy'] at the point guard spot for West Jess. Part of a loaded Sophomore class for the Colts, Solo is a quick guard who can get downhill and is a good shooter, too. His numbers are not going to blow anyone away because he's playing a small role at the varsity level but by this time next year, I expect Solo to be starting and putting up solid numbers.

If you're looking strictly at potential, Hayes is one of the tops in this class. Standing 6'7 and confident shooting out to the college three point line, JD has a very high prospect ceiling. While he needs to add some bulk to his wiry frame, Hayes is going to have a chance to be a big time difference maker for Montgomery County, long term.

One of the best pure shooters at our Freshman Expo back in the fall, Mason is part of a very talented Freshman class for Mayfield. Hopkins still has a lot of growing to do and will need to get active in the weight room this offseason but he's skilled and has a quick release on his shot. If he continues to develop his game and grows a little, Mason will be a difference maker in the first region.

Levi is a long forward prospect who can play down low or out on the perimeter. Persley has a high prospect ceiling thanks to his measurables and his long term potential. Levi has seen the court in 5 varsity games this season for Manual and could be a starter the next 3 seasons. In the short term, if Persley bulks up, he could be one of the best 2029s in all of Louisville.
