The first full week of January is complete, meaning the basketball season is in full swing. Group 4 is the largest public school group in New Jersey and has guards that are primed for big performances over the next couple of weeks. Here are the Central Jersey Group 4 guards to track.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790209' first='Ethan' last='Lin'], 6'4 PG Montgomery 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2683649' first='Mike' last='Simborski'] has stepped up for the Cougars this season, but Lin is the catalyst of the Cougars' offense. The Penn commit plays with composure on the ball and uses his size to see over his defender. Lin can finish in a variety of ways around the rim and rises up with confidence on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and pushes the pace nicely in transition. Lin recently became Montgomery's all-time leading scorer and will be looking to end his career on a high note as the Cougars look to win their third straight sectional title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953390' first='Matt' last='Mikulka'], 5'9 PG East Brunswick 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1943568' first='Cam' last='Vick'] has been dynamic on the ball this season, but Mikulka's shooting has sparked the Bears' offense. The 5'9 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Mikulka moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He is an underrated passer and slides his feet on the defensive end. Mikulka is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should continue to torch the nets from distance for East Brunswick.

Dylan McEwan, 5'11 SG Marlboro 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='2344532' first='Nolan' last='Gong'] impacts the game on the ball, but McEwan has made an impact on the perimeter this season. The 5'11 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get into the paint and finishes nicely around the rim. McEwan can also score in the mid-range and rarely forces jumpers in the half court. He works hard on the defensive end and moves well without the ball in his hands. McEwan has provided Marlboro with a steady presence in the backcourt, giving the Mustangs a 2027 backcourt duo to track this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763472' first='Juan' last='Sanchez'], 5'7 PG Trenton 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2763474' first='Aivaye' last='Ingram'] has the potential to play in the backcourt as well, but Sanchez has been steady all season for the Cyclones. The 5'7 guard is a blur in the open floor as he uses his speed to blow by defenders and finishes nicely around the rim. Sanchez can also score in the mid-range and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He uses his quick hands to get steals and can play off the ball as well. Sanchez is a speedy guard prospect who should continue to make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107955' first='George' last='Boley'], 6'3 CG Jackson Township 2026

Boley does a little bit of everything for Jackson Township as he leads the team in points, assists and steals. The 6'3 guard is aggressive off the bounce as he finishes strong around the rim and can make layups through contact. Boley has a nice touch in the mid-range and finds his open teammates in the half court. He uses his length to be disruptive on the defensive end and pushes the pace well in transition. Boley is a versatile guard prospect who should continue to put his full skillset on display this season.
