Recruiting Report: Seryee Lewis (2020)
It seems like Kenwood 2020 post Seryee Lewis is primed to make the jump in his game we have been waiting for this spring. He has always had the physical tools that profile as a D1 post, but the production was never there. At 6’7” he has size and athleticism. Lewis has a quick second jump which allows him to be a major presence on the offensive glass. He was assertive on the boards crashing the glass with more aggression than we had seen on both ends of the floor when we saw him this spring. Lewis made quick post moves and also connected multiple times from mid-range on his jumper. Runs the floor very well when motivated. Uses his length defensively to alter several shots. If he can play motivated he could make a big leap this spring. Should be monitored by low-majors during the live periods.
Lewis had to sit out the first half of the season at Kenwood because of his transfer from Marist. How did the rest of the season go?
“The second half of the season was good. It was a lot to get adjusted to my team with me not playing the first half of the season, but we managed to get through it.”
He spoke about the development in his low post game.
“I have improved a lot with my post moves and I thank that a lot to my high school coach Marlo Finner who helped me with that and being more physical. That helped a lot.”
Running with Young & Reckless this spring what is he most excited for?
“I am looking forward to winning championships, having fun with my teammates, and getting noticed more by college coaches.”
Lewis gave us an early update on his recruitment.
“I have an offer from Southern Utah. I have heard from Ole Miss, Yale, Southern Illinois, and UW-Milwaukee.”
