Available NC Seniors Worthy of Attention

Another group of players we are going to continue to highlight on Prep Hoops North Carolina are seniors that are still looking for a college home. The current day recruiting climate is wild and unpredictable as the landscape continues to evolve every single day. Because of this there's a level of uncertainty that a lot of these kids are operating with and they deserve to have their game's highlighted. Let's take a deeper look at guys worthy of this attention.    Newman has been a dark horse candidate for all of the major player of the year awards early on when you consider the combination of team and individual success. Newman is truly battle tested, playing in big games against older guys from the time he was in the 7th grade. Gaston Christian is off to a 15-1 start with Newman averaging 17.1 Points, 5.3 Rebounds, and 5.0 Assists per game. All leading his team. As this season continues, people really need to think about Newman in Gatorade conversations. It has all culminated up to this special senior season for Cam, he's a true PG with great vision, feel, and the ability to take over scoring himself when needed. He's a confident defender with enough strength to play with a physical edge despite being on the smaller side. Newman is among the best PG's in the Carolina's regardless of class, he'll be a great addition wherever he ends up.     Houpt has become a really high level producer in his time in high school as a really well rounded addition to any backcourt. He can play on or off the basketball with his ability to both make plays off the bounce and connect on shots from the outside. Houpt has taken a leap in role each season, making him very prepared to be a primary guy this season. He's averaging 17.1 Points, 3.7 Rebounds, and 2.6 Assists per game on the season so far. He's a really smooth shot maker, capable of hitting shots from deep as he's shot 40% from there over the course of his high school career and should eclipse over 200 makes. Houpt is a no brainer next level guy that should continue to garner more and more collegiate attention.     Forsyth Country Day has a true state championship level group and [player_tooltip player_id='2466878' first='Tyrin' last='Graham'] is a huge piece of it with his ability to score the basketball. He's a perfect piece in the backcourt alongside the bevy of talent with him under Coach Esleeck. Graham has a really quick first step with ability to finish at the rim in traffic at a high level. He can make outside shots off the catch or bounce and run the point even though he's not asked to do that a whole lot with this group. He's just been a consistent producer in every single setting over multiple years. He's definitely a scholarship worthy candidate that will be playing important basketball deep into the season.     McKinnon has transferred over to Mooresville and has had an immediate impact with his new group. McKinnon is a true glue guy that plays with a ton of pride at the defensive end of the floor and is a really high level rebounder for a guard. He's a legit 6'2" now with a strong frame and loves to play with a physical edge. He's contributing offensive averaging over 8 Points per game on a 7-1 Mooresville team that will have multiple other guys featured in this available senior series throughout the rest of the season. McKinnon is also averaging nearly 6 Rebounds per game on the season, to go with 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks.     Arnold is another really well rounded guard that has found himself surrounded by stars in his senior season at Davidson Day and there aren't many guards in NC I'd rather have alongside this stacked group. Arnold will simply help fill in the gaps in every way. He's a walking triple double threat because of how much he crashes the glass, even offensively. He's a physical driver, capable of bullying other guards that aren't ready to play that brand of basketball. He does a great job spreading the ball around to the star studded front court at Davidson Day. Arnold doesn't shoot a ton from the outside but is capable of knocking it down from time to time. Expect Arnold to continue a special senior season at Davidson Day and garner more recruiting attention in the process.
