Tuesday night we saw Lyons host Dekalb in a fun matchup. It was a really competitive game throughout the first half with both teams going back and forth as Lyons led by one at the break. When the second half started they blitzed Dekalb outscoring them by 19 points in the third quarter going on to win 75-49. Which prospects shined in this contest?

[player_tooltip player_id='2538631' first='Grant' last='Smith'] (Lyons – 2028)

Smith is a tough combo forward that can really shoot the basketball. Plus shot maker who poured them in from mid-range and three. Deep range on it spotting up. Rim runs for scores multiple times. Like what he brought to the table as a passer and was gritty on the defensive end with good fundamentals. He had 18 points in the victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839879' first='Timmy' last='Sloan'] (Lyons – 2027)

Sloan is a jumbo point guard at 6'5” that we are very high on. He has an outstanding passing feel especially in the open floor. Great instincts in the open floor pushing off the defensive glass for long outlets on the money or passes with zip coming up the floor. In the half court he makes the extra pass and the right decisions. Quality shooter that can get his shot off with his size draining a couple threes. Got to the rim on sweeping layups getting to the rack. He had 14 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415542' first='Nathan' last='Woods'] (Lyons – 2027)

Woods is a big wing that is a knock down shot maker. He banged in multiple threes off the catch along with getting in the mid-range for several shots. Can attack a little on straight line takes and rebounds well for a wing. He had 14 points.

Blake Ragsdale (Lyons – 2027)

Ragsdale is a 5'11” point guard that came off the bench to be a spark for LT. He was scrappy around the hoop, got to the line, hit a pair of threes, and had a sweet behind the head pass for 14 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2869206' first='Tommy' last='Blyth'] (Lyons – 2026)

Blyth is a 6'5” glue guy for Lyons. Plus positional size, rebounds so well in his area, and impacted defensively blocking shots.

Myles Newman (Dekalb – 2026)

Newman is a 6'2” two guard who was a monster in the first half especially. Thick bodied two guard that showcased a sweet floater and banked in several shots including a three. He had 18 points.

Derrion Straughter (Dekalb – 2026)

Straughter brings perimeter scoring for this team as a 6'2” guard that got in the paint for multiple finishes on runners, put backs, and pick/roll conversions.

Lukas Stubblefield (Dekalb – 2026)

Stubblefield is a strong bodied 6'4” power forward that flashed some skill including hitting a spot up three and getting to the line for 5 points.

Gabe Crump (Dekalb – 2027)

Crump is a long and rangy 2027 prospect that caught our eye with his shooting, activity level, and potential on the defensive end. Went for 8 points.
