DIVISION 1 … KIMBERLY

The Kam Cerroni coaching era at Kimberly got off to a rousing start last Friday as the visiting Papermakers pulled out a 62-61 victory over Oshkosh North. Senior guard Kegan Pleau Kegan Pleau 6'1" | CG Kimberly | 2026 State WI (6-1), who showed vast improvement over the summer, was the top performer for Kimberly as the muscular combo guard scored 20 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists. Talented junior wing Alex Krause Alex Krause 6'5" | SG/SF Kimberly | 2027 State WI (6-3) also turned in a strong showing for Cerroni's squad as he scored 17 points while also dishing out three assists. Senior forward Ryan Buchanan Ryan Buchanan 6'4" | SF Kimberly | 2026 State WI (6-4) contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Papermakers edged an Oshkosh North program that played in the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament last March. Cerroni's squad faces another very talented team this week when the Papermakers travel to West De Pere Monday for a non-league contest.

DIVISION 2 ... WATERFORD

A few eyebrows were raised across the Southern Lakes Conference when defending league champion Waterford dropped a 63-56 decision to Racine Park on the opening night of the season. The Wolverines bounced back in a big way last week, tough, as coach Nick Roeglin's squad posted impressive wins over Wauwatosa West, Westosha Central and Whitnall. In the 59-56 triumph over invading Wauwatosa West, the defending WIAA Division 2 state champions, senior guard and Northern Michigan recruit Caden Gustafson Caden Gustafson 6'3" | SG Waterford | 2026 State WI (6-4) hit a three-point shot from near midcourt to give Waterford a 59-56 victory. Gustafson's basket set off a wild celebration on the Waterford court and set the tone for the Wolverines' 80-42 win over league-rival Westosha Central and a 72-45 win non-league win over Whitnall. Gustafson had 22 points against Wauwatosa West, 25 against Westosha Central and 15 against Whitnall.

DIVISION 3 ... STANLEY-BOYD

With a pair of wins last week, Stanley-Boyd remained undefeated and improved to 3-0 on the young season. The Orioles beat St. Croix Central 74-58 last Tuesday before thumping Plum City/Elmwood 72-32 on Saturday at UW-Stout. Junior guard Brayten Mallo Brayten Mallo 5'10" | CG Stanley-Boyd | 2027 WI (5-11) made seven three-point shots for the Orioles in the win at St. Croix Central. It's a busy and challenging week ahead for Stanley-Boyd as the Orioles host Edgar on Monday and Regis on Tuesday before traveling to Western Cloverbelt Conference-favorite Fall Creek on Friday.

DIVISION 4 ... LACONIA

Leading returning scorer Cash Farrell Cash Farrell 6'3" | SG Laconia | 2026 State WI (6-3) remains sidelined with an injury, but the Spartans of Laconia proved they are much more than a one-man team last week with road wins over Little Chute and Campbellsport. In the 60-51 win over Little Chute, senior Beckett Weisgerber Beckett Weisgerber 6'1" | PF Laconia | 2026 WI (6-1) led the way with 24 points, nailing six three-point baskets in the process. Junior Mason Langenfeld Mason Langenfeld 6'3" | SF/PF Laconia | 2027 WI (6-3) added 11 points. Laconia began its Wisconsin Flyway Conference season with a 57-51 win over Campbellsport as Langenfeld had 18 points and made 10 of his foul shots. He also grabbed 10 rebounds. Laconia returns to league play Tuesday by hosting league-favorite Lomira. The Spartans also have home games Friday (Omro) and Saturday (Ootsburg).

DIVISION 5 ... ROYALL

Despite heavy graduation losses from last year's team that went 28-1, Royall won two games last week to move to 3-0 on the young season. Coach Scott Uppena's squad defeated Pittsville 64-39 and Seneca 63-53 with an entirely new starting lineup from a year ago. Senior guard Trey Wildes Trey Wildes 6'2" | SF Royall | 2026 WI (6-2), the most experienced returning for the Panthers, had 30 points and six three-point baskets in the win over Seneca. Freshman Bentley Rozek Bentley Rozek 6'3" | PF Royall | 2029 WI (6-3) added 10 points and four assists for Royall. Senior Dylan Velazquez (5-11) led the way for Royall in the win over Pittsville with 19 points and five three-point baskets. The Panthers have two Scenic Bluffs Conference outings this week as Royall hosts New Lisbon on Tuesday before traveling to Necedah on Friday
